It also says the same on Andrew's website (http://www.failedpilot.com/ (http://www.failedpilot.com/about/)).  Looks like that bio was written by Andrew himself, actually.

I make audio comedy outside of the Just Farr A Laugh series. From 2001 through 2006, I performed call-in pranks on Tom Scharpling’s “The Best Show On WFMU.”

Fun while it lasted.

On a brighter note, welcome to the board, Jouster.

Was he not the voice of the guy pretending to have played with Crust? Or is that someone else.

Yep, that's him.  One of the last calls he made -- actually, a series of calls  -- was as Tom's neighbor, who sought to line up fresh pizza slices for Halloween.  I've always loved Earles. The bone-dry voice. The incredulous COORS LIGHTness of his characters.

Say it ain't so.

Oh this makes me sad.  No more Winesack?  I can only think of one other person that could take Winesack's place.

Winesack was a true American and I don't think anyone has ever built a movie in the Build a Movie game better than him.

One of my very first exposures to The Best Show, not on any research or recommendation mind you, but just as a random FMU listener, brought me the Mr. Bungle fan calling in.  I won't cop to totally buying it, but at the time it definitely had me scratching my head in wonder...

So yes, here's to you Mr. Earles, you will be missed!

Yeah man, the first time I heard the Best Show I didn't know really what it was all about (best way to find it, I think) and it was the night of the first call from Kevin.  I totally thought Kevin was real and thought it was really funny, imagining Tom Scharpling as this put upon guy who has to somehow gracefully field calls from all the jersey townies of his past.  It's Casual!

OMG!  john h, that was my first show too!
it was the shakey show.  A friend of mine was playing a cassette of it in his car because he knew I had just read he shakey book.  at first TBS just seemed like a regular interview show, then,.... Kevin.  I listened intently to Krazy kevin for a while then looked over at my friend with a big smile on my face.  My friend smiled back and nodded.
