Hey Tom.
I noticed the Ropers will be playing Maxwell's July 7th, but Unrest (and its various line-ups) will be playing in DC on July 10th.
I'm making the drive from Nashville to be there.
It would be awesome if you made it there too.

Teen Beat was first published in 1976 wouldn't that make it 34 years old?

The Washington D.C. based record label. Not the magazine.

Nice! I checked NC for shows but didn't see them listed. If timing is right, I may see them twice.

Please stop; You're making me miss 90's boy bands.

Ha, sorry but that would have been the perfect label for all those 90's bands.

The Washington D.C. former Arlington, VA now Cambridge, MA-based record label. Not the magazine.

me = Black Cat show

I'm gonna try to figure something out. It's around the Fourth of July, but whatever happens, I WILL SEE UNREST. Hopefully more than once.
They were one of the most aggressively innovative bands going - any period of their timeline could inspire an entire scene. I was initially a little bummed when they locked in on one sound, but that sound was pretty perfect in retrospect.
TeenBeat is doing a great job of reissuing the original cassettes on CD - with replica cassette cards included! - so do yourself a favor and check them out over at www.teenbeat.net .
Tom.
-
Yah, it looks like Brooklyn is sold out. Foof. Maybe I'll go down and stay with my parents & see the Black Cat show!
EDIT: mmkay, do you guys wanna do a DC FOT meet up in July? Yes/No? Barry Egan?
-
I'd love to, AC.
I will definitely be at the Black Cat show alongside yesno. Any out-of-town FOT are welcome to stay at my place.

Hotcha! A gathering of the FoT that I can actually make it to. That weirdo "Icepants" will be accompanying me.

Allright, youse. I'm putting this on my calendah!
(also, isn't Chris L in the DC/MD/VA area? Get yer ticket, chump.)
-
Sounds great. I have people storage too.
-
I have to say, that was the daintiest, itty-bittiest service charge I've paid for tix in recent memory. Like $2.50 ...
-
Ticket purchased.

YAY!
-
Can't go unfortunately. Whoever is going to the DC show, please shout out "Ben's Chili Bowl" as a request!
-
Grenadine is a fine band, I think. Maybe Its Reno, as well. Oh, and Aden.

Come to Chapel Hill. The show is on July 11th. We can TP that softserve Panera Bread together.

Yep, $15.00 show, $1.90 service fee. NOT BAD.
-
I have conversed with Icepants. Any FoT that provide us with lodging will be given gifts and a heaping dose of southern hospitality. That's on top of you being awesome.
-
I can take one of you, or both if you wanna share a futon.
-
We can share. I don't mind floors either. Thanks Barry. I'll message you as the show time nears.
-
I'm just hoping for a rendition of imperial, does that make me a weirdo?

edit:
oh no I take that back I am a weirdo. I was hoping Butch Willis (Teen-Beat Artist) would be opening the D.C. show.

I have an army cot. It is more comfortable than many couches.
