Maybe I'm late to this, but this program is awesome.

It has some mediocre city guides--but a lot of them. Lonely Planet for iPhone is more limited, missing some fairly major cities.

It has the ability for you to store an arbitrary amount of map data locally, for anywhere (whether they bothered to assemble a guide for that area, or no).  You can also choose which level of detail.

Of course, it integrates with the compass and GPS on your phone.  Boom.

Bing's aerial, bird's eye view feature is so cool, and so much more useful than satellite imagery.
