Title: I interviewed Larry Charles yesterday!
Post by: HaroldBlvd on June 13, 2010, 05:23:09 AM
Larry Charles, the director of Borat, writer and director of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, etc is an alumni of John Dewey HS. I tracked him down and invited him to the 40th Anniversary Reunion for school that we had on Saturday.
Not only did he accept my invitation, he agreed to do an interview and Q & A session in the auditorium.

He was very cool and answered all sorts of questions about his days at Dewey and growing up in Brooklyn, his approach to filming Curb, his views on religion and a whole bunch of other stuff.
He will be filming Curb Your Enthusiasm in New York this summer and he said he would make my bar his regular stop.

Awesome! I always get him mixed up with that other Larry that does the child pornography films. No pervs wondered in thinking the same thing did they?

Much better than my high schools famous person Steve Spurier. He not only refused to come back to the high school but said he wanted nothing to do do with the school that named their football stadium after him and denied even going there.

Our other famous alumni, Spike Lee, who was in my graduating class ,
refuses to have anything to do with the school.

Agreeing w/Martin - awesome!

I've also always liked the look that Larry Charles is rocking - he's like a non-grouchy Alan Moore.

I have the whole thing. I need to transfer it to DVD and then upload it. It is really interesting.

What did he say about working with Dylan and Seinfield/Larry David supposing you asked him something to that affect?
