If you're not listening, you're a dummy.

Being a dummy, I missed it.  Are they not putting up the archives?

These guys have made 5 of my top ten comedy albums.  Everything, but the live record, is brilliant to say the least.

The problem is not the material on the live one; it is the recording quality.

Now, how about some Duck's Breath!

Is it just me or does Proctor remind anyone else of Fred Willard in A Mighty Wind  just a little?
This isn't a diss, I like Firesign.

Based on that interview alone, one would not be wowed.  But since I love them all, I was just happy to see it.

Snook, have you seen this (http://www.prx.org/series/14524-behind-the-comedy-thirty-years-of-duck-s-breath-m)?

Hot damn!  Thank you!

I truly love all the FOTs.  I concluded that was what my crazy post was all about: my character not expressing enough gratitude for  Tom and this community.  I know, I am not my character but sometimes the line gets blurred.

I should say this privately, but, Sarah you've got a special magic I crave.

The last third of the interview is where I really connected.  I flatter myself by thinking I work a similar game.

When I found out the Isles of Langerhans were near my kidneys, I laughed out loud in class.  Best Show/subway/headphones style.

That Isle of Langerhans bit always reminded me of Mark Twain's "solitary esophagus [sleeping] upon motionless wing."

Oh, also:  shucks.

I'm not sure if I get it.  Perhaps quintessential "old comedy".  I acknowledge it seems relatively seminal.  Its kind of interesting from a historical perspective, I guess.  I think I got most of the references, but I don't think I  laughed during it.  Watching the interview, though, makes me want to watch the rest of them.
"Late night... call in talk show that dealt with tarot cards and UFOs and all of the most arcane..."  Night People carrying on tradition from even before George Noory?  But the modern, surreal radio comedy universes of Newbridge or The Mighty Boosh seem also to have been preceded by this, as well as things like Tim and Eric or Mr. Show with their stream of consciousness satire.

Shoales has clearly never cooked heroin.

And Henry VIII didn't start killing his wives till after he created the Church of England.

Jeez.

P.S.  Tor, I was in the Firesign Chat on Tuesday, during the show.  Thursdays are less likely.

While I think the album was the perfect format for the stuff they did,  Firesign's still pretty good on radio.
Three words for you, Sarah:  Radio Free Oz.

You are welcome, Tor.  And I have no idea why my avatar survived the purge.  Maybe Tom likes snowy lawn ornaments.

The latest installment included one of my favorite bits, "Deputy Dan."
