... of the New Bomb Turks, who has a new book ("We Never Learn") about 1990s rock/punk stuff: NBT, Teengenerate, Crypt Records, etc etc. I imagine there'd be lots of tales to tell!

I think he still lives in Brooklyn and he's done a Listener Hour, so he's definitely familiar with the station. He's also a very funny guy, so this could be a good fit.

Good, thorough book so far (~100 pages), but as masterofsparks predicted, I am finding ED's Cryptspeak a bit wearying, though some of it is nicely evocative.

I'd love to see Zachary Brimstead, Esq. tackle the gunk-punk genre.

Yeah, using '60s beat slang like "dig" and "cat" can be grating, but then again my brother-in-law is in it! AND he has the best story: he's the guy from the record store who chased down the crusty punk! that boy makes me proud.
