I am a big Jay Reatard fan and looking to dive into more music like his. Can I get some recs? In the Red bands and others that you think I can build off of? Thanks in advance.

The Screamers and Wire, if you're not already familiar with their stuff.

I second the Wipers recommendation. Their first three albums (Is This Real?, Youth of America, and Over The Edge) are indispensable.
Also, check out The Clean. The "Anthology" compilation on Merge is an excellent starting point.

Greg Sage's first solo album Straight Ahead is pretty awesome too.

If you like Blood Visions, you'll love The Adverts.
If you like his post-Blood Visions stuff, you'll love all that Flying Nun stuff-- the Clean, the Bats, the Verlaines.
If you like the Reatards, listen to the Oblivians.
If you like Lost Sounds, there's stuff like the Screamers.
If you like Final Solutions, get yourself loaded up on Killed by Death shit, (you should do that anyway.)
Angry Angles covered stuff by Urinals and Wire.
There's plenty of garage punk stuff to check out, some of it great some it not.
Recommended record labels to try stuff from--- Goner, Bomp, Crypt, Norton.
OR you could just listen to a bunch of archives of Cherry Blossom Clinic and take notes.
