I know we probably all hate it but I was listening to a Jim James acoustic show and after a girl in the audience yelled "We love you!" a guy yelled "I only like him." It didn't get many laughs but I starting giggling on the bus making others probably think I was cranking the new Dane Cook.
Sub-topic: What do you hate hearing at concerts?
For me it's "Play anything you want."

I remember on one of the last pre-reunion Pavement tours I saw them in Philly at the Electric Factory and US Maple was opening for them. They were really not good, and that audience wasn't really feeling them. After one song (followed by some halfhearted clapping) one guy yelled out "these guys really suck" when the entire room was silent. Then another 20 seconds of silence, followed by the singer leaning over to the mic and saying "this will be our last song".
Weird thing is, years later I was telling a good friend that story in college, and it turned out that it was him who yelled it. Fun.

I think I might have posted this tidbit in another thread somewhere, but I went to see my friends band play. After their first song, I yelled out (very enthusiastically) "One more!" I'm pretty sure it's the funniest thing anybody has ever done.

When they were introducing themselves I cut them off by yelling YOU SUCK.
It was beast.

One time at Disney World my brother heard a kid screaming on a roller coaster, "Elmo!"
We thought it was so funny we adopted that as our concert/roller coaster yell.
We designate one "Elmo!" per event.

Possibly.

So far, the high point of my life was when Ted Leo acknowledged my shout of "Jazz Fart" at last year's Bowery Ballroom show.

I think I remember Ryan Adams reacting negatively when I requested Summer of 69.
Mahgeetah, are you gunna pull of any of the five album shows?

I'm not really the yelling things type, but I was a bit disappointed when the last time I saw him passed without anyone requesting "Chain Fight Tonight" or "The World Is In The Turlet" for me to cheer for.

When I saw Deloris Telescope I shouted out, "I Wanna Be Your Dog." The lead singer responded, "When I said I was coming to New Port Richey someone warned me about you."

Yeah! I'm going to Z night. If this was last year before I had a baby and moved 3 hours out of the city, I may have gone to all 5. Alas.
Are you going to any of them?

I wish! I might! I don't know. I would definately hit up the Tennessee Fire night or At Dawn so I could hear Nashville to Kentucky, War Begun and Just Because I Do.
I got tickets to the Penn's Landing show in August and I can't wait.
I last saw them right before Z and heard a lot from At Dawn and It Still Moves. They really stay on Z and Evil Urges now, which I love as well. I also saw Jim with MOF and would give anything to hear MMJ play "Losin' Yo Head." When MOF played it it was insane, so I can only imagine.
Also hearing "I Will Be There When You Die" live would probably rank as one of the greatest moments of my life.
I think the shows will be wildly taped, so I will settle for that. Plus I'm sure it's sold out by now.

Every day at yoga class the teachers says "any requests today?", asking if there are any poses we would like to do that day, and every day I want to say "FREE BIRD" but I do not.

you have no right to post here until you yell it.
(do it!)

I am sorry, I have been to thousands of shows and have never heard anyone yell out anything remotely funny. Good luck with your report, though.

The Mekons always had very good hecklers. Not that I can remember any really exquisite heckles, though.
