Vote all you want, Tom's banned him a billion times and Spike has never paid the slightest attention.

Yeah, Spike's going to keep calling. I just hope Tom keeps him on a short leash for a while.

short leash?  Spike's a personal hero of mine.  Remember the time he said he wrote that book, but he didn't?  Well that happened to me, and it didn't end well.  Watching him get caught and handle that situation with aplomb made me want to try again.  I owe a lot to the guy.  He's got a certain finesse about him.

I respect the fact that Tom's upset about his ostensible "regulars" taking their persona to other territories, so my vote above for "yes" comes with the condition that LDP and/or Spike turn their acts around with that in mind. To be honest, it's kinda weird voting for Spike; I don't know what I get out his calls.

I accidently voted yes.  Let the record show that was an error.

I think Spike's been made obsolete by Robot-Spike. Tom does most of the work during Spike's calls so I don't know if there will be much difference.

Think we could get Milos to build the robot Spike?  Betcha he could do it.

I want Milo to create a Spike character for his next Dungeons & Dragons session, and I want Milo to tell us what happens with the character.

Aplomb must mean the exact opposite of what I was thing.  Vote--

Using the word "shmuck" was a little much, but where else you gonna hear gems like "Bill OhReally"?  Tell me that much.

To be honest, Spike's calls kinda bore me. Sorry Spike. I refrain from calling in for fear of bogging down my all-time favorite radio show. Spike could stand to adopt a bit of a that philosophy from time to time.

Is aplomb equivalent to psychotic denial?

Come on, Spike is weird and tries very hard to be Spike, but it's funny. Leave the little fellow alone.

Spike is getting trounced in the polling! Now I feel a little sorry for him. I do admit I like him more than I do LDP (who isn't doing nearly as bad at his own polling), but that isn't saying much.

I never found Spike funny. However I now have lost respect for him. On Shut Up, Weirdo the hosts seemed to like Spike and welcomed his calls. On the Best Show Tom hangs up on him half the time  and mocks him the other half of the time. However Spike chose the guy who makes fun of him over the people who like him just because the Best Show is more popular and gets more listeners. He's like the school nerd who would rather be picked on by the jocks than play  D&D with the other nerds.

That's a lot of interesting assumptions you make about Spike's motivations. When did you talk with him?

I don't know anything about your motivations, homeboy.

Maybe you're right and I am making unfounded assumptions, but if he's not calling in because he enjoys being an extremely low level celebrity then I don't know what his purpose is in calling.

So, fishhhhhhlegs, is Spike calling, or not calling SUW?  If he is, there's no way to get back on TBS.  Sorry, I would check myself, but I can't stomach the thought of listening to those two. yech!

No kidding. I've given SUW three chances and I just couldn't take it.

No, Spike hasn't called in since Tom told him not to. They discussed it a week or 2 ago and they actually seem to miss his calls. Andy also seemed to be a little bothered by the idea of Tom telling people they couldn't call into his show, but you never know how many of these feelings are legitimate and how much are just for show. But poor LDP got banned from the Best Show and Andy didn't even remember him calling in.

OK, I just listened to last week's SUW and Spike did indeed call in. The guy has a spine after all.  He literally just called in to do his schtick so it wasn't a good call, but he did call in.
