Ok, I admit I have not read this essay (http://www.tedleo.com/2010/08/20/majorly-massive-career-trajectory-news-you-might-say-paradigm-shift-even/) in its entirety yet, but I was excited to see a mention of Reginald Van Voorst, whom you will recall Tom met on his legendary train ride. (http://twitter.com/scharpling/status/11969930309) Looking forward to Monday's announcement.

Dang, I was hoping it was going to be the announcement of the Ted Leo Institute for Biomusicology. I do have to admit, I thought it was one big joke with Reginald Van Voorst as the punchline, but it looks real. And I'm extremely excited.
-
From what I hear, it's a re-imagining of Bugsy Malone.
-
I am excited for whatever it might be. Ted has yet to let me down, and I don't expect this to be the start.
-
I'm hoping, being an FOT and a musical theatre performer, that we will get first dips on auditions. I am preparing my sixteen bars of "Moonlit Nite" as we speak.
-
Ted's project sounds exciting, but I'm more interested in whether he's a social democrat or a democratic socialist. Sound like the later.

The more specific term is the one Ted uses: libertarian socialist. Democratic socialism typically implies statism, while libertarian socialism does not. That's (mainly) why one is considered a form of anarchism, and the other is not.

Oh that Tom and Ted got me good. However, the build-up was worth the payoff. Great video, a happy way to start the week.
-
Someone should do a popup video version identifying all the FOT.
-
Liked how PFT held the album with two fingers, showing his disgust. Only wished he would have included "the Great WHITE Way," like his Andrew Lloyd Weber character says it.
-
Great video! PFT + Ted Leo&Rx + FOT = awesome. This has made my day. Great work to all involved! Top shelf!
-
Bravo to Ted, Tom, and all involved, that was a delight.
-
That was awesome! Loved the FOT cameos too.
-
Truly beautiful piece of work.
-
This is wonderful, so many FOTs!
-
I said it on Facebook, and I'll say it here: the music video as art form has been perfected. Everyone else can go home. (Unless that guy who made the "Take On me" video want to keep making them. That would be okay.)

Please! Jason Grote got a nice long look.
-
This is incredible. Awesome job by Tom and Ted and everyone else involved.
-
Who knew Patrick Stickles could show such emotion?
-
Awesome surprise to wake up to this morning. Top notch work by everyone involved!
Let's get it some more love over at Buzzfeed -

This is the first music video I have seen in years that I actually enjoyed. So, so good.

I liked the timing of the gum drop.
And the song is catchy but, not obnoxiously so.

Let's get a list of the FOT in the video:
-Ted Leo (obviously)

-John Hodgeman
-Julie Klausner
-Steve (I can't believe he shaved his mustache off)
-Terre T
-Therese
Did I miss anyone?
-
These are based solely off Lisa Jane Persky's FOT series:
-Jason Grote (I Think)
-Andrew V. Dill (maybe?)
-
Jason Grote is definitely in it.

He looked so happy too! That made me smile myself.
-
Spoony's in it (he's the one w/the playbills), as are Dan (guy who proposed on the air a few weeks ago), Harold Blvd, Mike from Brooklyn (he's got the newsie cap on), I think Mike in Manhattan was there too but I"m not sure I see him.
-
Christine Carolyn (http://twitter.com/TADLER (http://twitter.com/TADLER)) -- close-up right before (or after?) Mr. Grote.
-
Does Matt Fraction play me?
-
Did I miss anyone?
AP Mike
-
I didn't see AP Mike in there, Although Steve did look strangely like him.
-
Who can fill in the other blanks?

Ok. Gotcha. I was behind on my Best Show listening. Caught up now.
-
Who can fill in the other blanks?
The young lady next to Terre T is one Janie Haddad aka Lebanese Looker.

Nixon masks? HST!
-
What is that bust on the ground supposed to be? Ted's inner self: sad, colorless and cheap?
-

That was my favorite part. Totally cleared my sinuses even.
-
Wonderful stuff. Every bit as good as those classic Yo La Tengo videos. PFT is brilliant. And that performance looks like it would have been so much fun to be at.
-
My favorite part is the end of the training sequence with Julie Klausner, 2:46 - 2:49.
