Title: Driving Etiquette
Post by: Matthew_S on December 10, 2010, 05:35:33 PM

What is the best way to indicate to someone driving behind you that their bright lights are on?

I'd pull over and let them pass.  Otherwise move the mirror and try to deal.

In my opinion it is virtually impossible to communicate anything to someone behind you that would be clearly understood.

Once some guy got all mad at me and claimed my brights were on at a truck stop. He wouldn't accept that he was wrong, as he verifiably was. This was like 4 years ago but I'm still mad at that guy.

What is the best way to ban LED lights on cars? Those things are blinding.

I've been thoroughly dismayed at the egregious abuse of high beams that takes place in the Lower Hudson Valley. I know there aren't any streetlights, but come on, people, there are 4 other cars within sight on the road. Don't blind us all. The headlights on your Dodge Ram with oversized wheels are at the same level as my eyes.

Pull over, let them pass, when they get in front of you, put on your brights and follow too closely.

 Don't do that.

Quote from: http://www.courierpostonline.com/
In a scenario similar to the recent reported incident, Born would brake repeatedly so drivers behind her would end up tailgating her, then she would pull alongside them, pull over, and when the other driver pulled over, she would call police and claim the other driver was harassing and stalking her, police explained.

What?  You're saying slamming on the brakes to indicate to someone your displeasure that his/her brights are on wouldn't work?  You must be mistaken.  That the link you provide is broken supports this hypothesis.

The link is fixed. Also, you don't drive.

I suppose this would be an opportunity to use a smiley.

 Get off my lawn!

Lesson noted, I'll make it to Space Champion someday.
