I want to do a blues, but I have virtually no poetic ability (virtually no singing ability either, but that's at least fun to try). Can you post some original blues lyrics?

Just improvise about something you're sad about.

How 'bout The No Soundboard Blues?

You mean like
I woke up this morning
My legs felt like lead
I said, "Good god almighty,"
I might as well be dead."
I've got the blues.
Etc.?
If so, you should be able to come up with something pretty easily. Hell, years ago, I improvised many verses of "The Underwear Blues" for my young cousin. She thought she was going to embarrass me by requesting such a naughty composition, but I showed her: nigh on bored her to death.
To think that same cousin now has five kids. Now there's the subject of a blues song.

Well, something a little more outside the box.

Do it up!

Hey, I was just confirming the basic formula in which you were interested.

I like colors, all their hews.
Sometimes I feel like I'm wearing Eeyore's shoes.
These words aren't meant to confuse.

Playing a gospel ditty (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERHhkoN0TOo#)
Playing "El Raton" by Cheo Feliciano (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixp-T90hMAg#)
So instead of the blues, I went gospel today.

You have to write what you know. Take a lesson from the masters:

That's funny. That clip reminds me of Martin Mull's "White Man's Blues":
I woke up this morning
Both my cars were gone
Felt so suicidal
Threw my drink across the lawn

I got the message board confusion blues.
