The Reigning Sound opened for Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings Thursday night, and they were terrific. Me and AFK were standing around passing time between bands, and Greg, singer/guitar player/songwriter walked right between us! I thanked him for coming to Knoxville, he shook my hand, I mentioned that I had heard him on the Cherry Blossom Clinic, and that Tom talked the band up on the Best Show all the time, he expressed love for Terri and Tom and WFMU. He could not have been friendlier, and those songs had about 6 hooks each.
And Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings? Wow.

Nice DFK! Did they announce the show last minute? It isn't on their myspace.

It was advertised here for at least 3 weeks; the local CD shop that I frequent was giving away a Reigning Sound/Sharon Jones gift pack.

I love Greg Cartwright and all his bands so much. Someone said he did a bit of drowning with a caller at some point in the last couple of months, I must have missed it - does anybody know what episode this was?

Dreadfully sorry, he refers to Tom Scharpling not to Greg Cartwright.

I'm just really nervous that I'll miss him. I just saw a youtube vid of a show he did on 3/05/11. I can't seem to find a list of future dates.

Dreadfully sorry, drowning refers to a song from the album too much guitar not to the state of not being unable to breathe due to water.

That was with Geneva (so sorry if I mangled that spelling) so I'm sure she'd know. Is she Bad Grammer on here? I can't remember.
