Title: Tom's Favorite Toms
Post by: senorcorazon on March 24, 2011, 08:36:00 AM
Tom Bosley
Tom's of Maine
Tom Tom Club
Tom Brokaw
Officer Tom

Least Favorites:
Tom Cruise
Tom Arnold
Tom Petey
Tom Waits

There are not many good Toms out there. Tom knows this, and that's what his pastor urges him to be the Tom that will be the best Tom in the Tomiverse.

Does anyone know what Tom's views on Thomas Edison are? I've been researching this extensively for the past couple months -- I listened to the entire archive, every podcast that Tom's appeared on, and all the secret recordings of Tom's personal phone calls -- but haven't come up with anything. Any help would be appreciated.

I imagine that Tom doesn't like Tommy Chong, and probably not Tom Gabel either.

Thom Yorke would likely go in the good pile.

He said in an interview that he does really like Radiohead, mentioning them with Robert Wyatt. Curiously, I don't ever remember him playing them.

Do "Thoms" count? What about "Tommys"?

He probably likes Tommy Ramone better than the drummer who replaced him.

He definitely had during the earlier days.  Kid A was the first unfair record review.

I saw a speech by the guy from TOMS shoes (whose name is not Tom, it's Blake Mycoskie) and he was really skeezy.  I have no view on the shoes, and I'm not going to shit on anything that helps poor kids, but if things had gone slightly differently this guy easily could have been an arms dealer or professional poker player or something.
