Why can't you use read audio?

i can use it, but that means i have to be attached to my computer. in the past i have heard of ways to download archived WFMU shows as MP3's and i was wondering if anyone had any insight.

hi, Im currently listening to all the old shows and yeah real audio sucks. so heres what I do: download a program called "flashget" which allows you to download real audio tracks, so you dont have to listen to them streaming. you download the .ram file and open it up as a text file, copy the address of the rm, and flashget should recognize it and auto add it to its download que. and then find another program called "switch sound converter" which will translate the .rm files into shiny new mp3s. works like a charm! Ive been using 56kbps and mono (which Im pretty sure is more or less what the real audio stuff is, it sounds fine) Its super easy, if you have any questions about it, then feel free to ax
Im a newbie and turfed out on my first post, so eh if this sort of thing is frowned upon feel free to wipe out this advice, I dont want to go 0-2 but yeah thats how you can do it ;)
