Does anybody have experience with buying used books on Amazon? I've started building a children's library for my nephews and nieces and for when my wife and I have children. I'm not looking for first editions but I do want nice hardcover copies of the books or anniversary editions that replicate first edition printings. My fear is that if I buy a hardcover book, I'm going to get whatever hardcover the seller has, not what I'm looking at on the Amazon listing. I do remember from selling college books that I had to put in UPC codes so maybe I don't have anything to fear?
For example:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0152053026/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1301712835&sr=8-2&condition=used (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0152053026/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1301712835&sr=8-2&condition=used)
Am I really going to get the 50th anniversary edition or am I going to get a hardcover pocket book?

Try half.com, too. I've had good luck there - it's run by ebay.com.

I believe half.com is absorbed into amazon.
The pic is the pic supplied by amazon for the new product so I don't think you can go by that.
Can't you send the seller a message asking them?

I'm planning on buying a lot of books so it would be time consuming to contact each seller.
