I seem to remember a newspaper review of some early-90's-I-think Monkees concert that mocked Micky for thanking, from the stage, the staff of the (mentioned by name) hotel they were staying at.
Yeah, you know how there are some performers who take it on themselves to acknowledge everybody who made tonight's performance possible, down to the lowliest gaffer? And yet, how many have you seen thank their hotel's staff? Not many, right? Why do you think that is?
Because almost none of them want to be seen as trolling that shamelessly for groupies, that's why.

I would go, but I would be well-aware of Nesmith's absence. As far as thanking the hotel staff, seems nice to me. I've met Dolenz and Tork and both were personable and unaffected be their Monkeehood. Also met Christian Nesmith, Mike's son, and he is a very talented musician - a human jukebox of sorts - I asked him to play some twenty-minute Yes song, and he did it, note-for-note! Think he works with Ty Tabor of King's X. Monkees forever. Tapioca Tundra!

I heard Rik Ocasek was filling in for Nesmith.
