My new hobby involves making fake OKCupid accounts. I've made ones for cult members and steel fetishists, but my teenage sartorialist is the first one to get deleted. Check them out here: http://brettdavis.tumblr.com (http://brettdavis.tumblr.com)
Does anyone have any positive or negative OKCupid experiences? I'm not on the site anymore (except for the fake ones) but when I was on, I had mixed experiences. I did learn a good lesson, though: no matter how potentially funny the it may be, wait to jokingly mention that you're a serial killer. Five minutes after meeting a girl and picking her up is not long enough.

I was on it a few months and got a few dates out of it. One lasted two nights and another 2 months. It pretty much sucks though, girls are super hesitant to talk to anyone unless they are strikingly handsome, have a beard, ride a fixed gear, make art and have a really ambiguous profile. So it feels like you are being constantly denied. Not good for self confidence. My longest relationships have been with girls I met in real life.

I wrote in my profile that I was in a belt whipping league. It was my glass slipper.

I like Brett's profiles! I found love on Okcupid twice. I also had lots of success interacting with women, both in terms of them messaging me and me messaging them.

Holy shit - I know that dude in the picture.

Too bad I'm not available!

Really? I have no idea how I found that picture. If you don't mind me asking, how do you know him? I'm very curious.

Man these are hilarious. Love the sartorialist aka "the youngest Brooks brother"
Just an fyi so people don't miss it, the link is in Brettster's signature under his post-- took me way to long to figure that out.
Keep them coming Brett!

Agreed, these are awesome. I love that sometimes the joke (or at least the best joke) isn't until the very end.

Yeah, we were at school at Calgary at the same time. He was a physics grad student and I had a few friends in his program, so I ended up at parties at his place now and then. Dude was pretty much the King of Theme Parties, if you can believe it. I just looked at his facebook page, and he has a negativized version of that photo as a profile picture.

Oops sorry about that. I fixed it.
And thanks to everybody for the kind words. It makes me almost think that this is not an incredible waste of time.

If he ever throws another theme party, let me know because I will drive to Calgary from New Jersey for it.

I don't think I have spoken to him in 4 or 5 years - BUT if you come up, I can try to introduce you. I'd say the best bet is to come up whenever the next James Bond movie comes out.
