Title: Philadelphia FOT Meetup: Listener Party 07/12/11
Post by: Geatorette on June 14, 2011, 07:24:28 PM: I thought it would be fun to set up a live listener party next month in Philadelphia. Here's the info!

Tues. July 12th 8pm-2am
The 700 (Bar and Nightclub)
700 N. 2nd St. - Philadelphia, PA

I'll be piping in the show over the bar's soundsystem, and then will be spinning some records until the end of the evening.

I was even prepared to face my deepest, darkest fears and attend an event where I literally didn't know a single person. It's probably for the best though. I wasn't all that eager to get stomped to death by an army of Rizzo clones anyway.

Just make sure you save room for one of Barf's famous cheesesteaks. I hear they're the best.

My odds of making this are now 99%! Just depends if Amtrak comes through when I need it to the most.

Can you arrange a broom closet for us to call from and/or for you to hook up with Ziegler?

It was really weird at first to listen to the show with other people, since for me it's usually a headphones-and-laptop or driving around North Jersey by myself thing. But once Tom came on and started ripping on that kid from Canada, people got into it.

I sat with my friend Oliver. He never heard the show before. I think he was laughing harder than everyone there.

Kudos to Julia and The 700 for putting this on! It was terrific.

BTW, I haven't seen the stairwell photo yet! Where is it?

The pantsed pic was posted on twitter last night. Can't remember who sent it out though. Last night is a blurrrrrrr.
