Quote
Shark Attack lyrics by Limp Bizkit
Another one of those days
Feelin like a shovel
With a lot of shit in the way
Gonna clear me a path
Right to the culprit
Straight to your fucked up past
This aint about rage
It's about disrespect
You shoulda thought about that
Before your track went flat
Homie what the deal?
Why you talkin' shit like that?
I've had enough drama
I don't need a chump
Talkin' that trash in pajamas
Heated up like a sauna
Time to pay the piper
I ain't givin' hope like Obama
I'm spittin out flames
Better hit the deck
Ima mic check them games
You don't need a new coach
You need a new neck
Hoarse(of course?) I connect with your throat

Still shockin' like a heart attack
Cuz I'm a maniac
Still runnin through the shark attack
Without a single scratch
Still limpin' where the dog is at
Up in my brainiac
Still Bitin while your barkin' back
So you can shut your trap

Check 1-2
I ain't even through
Givin you grief
Put another stain on your teeth
Back up on your feet
Call in the rescue
Better get the whole damn fleet
This attack aint stealth
It's worldwide
Homicide bad for your health what
I'm goin straight for the gut
Closin them minds
Sewin them lips straight shut
Go ahead put it on me
Show me what you got
Why you get robbed like a zombie
It's a one man army
Puff Puff give
Watch em get smoked like a cig
You heard of Freedy Kruger?
I'm kinda like that
With a red cap and a Ruger
Still slingin it to ya
Microphone hustla
Bad motha fucka
Screw ya.

Still shockin' like a heart attack
Cuz I'm a maniac
Still runnin through the shark attack
Without a single scratch
Still limpin' where the dog is at
Up in my brainiac
Still Bitin while your barkin' back
So you can shut your trap

I saw Limp Bizkit live in '98 opening for Faith No More.  They did the following...

- called the crowd a "bunch of faggots"

- had some guy thrown out for no apparent reason.  Durst called him "a fucking faggot"

- said the word "faggot" a few more times

- did a cover of George Michael's 'Faith' for some reason

- started to play Rage Against the Machine's "Bombtrack" then stopped and said "PSYCH!"  (honestly, sort of funny, but by that point the crowd was lost.  It's like watching a comedian bomb horribly and then finally tell a good joke when it matters least.  Plus they were intentionally trying to antagonize the crowd.)

The crowd HATED them.  Also their sound was incredibly awful.  Two years later they're popular.  Every now and then the world gets it completely wrong.

Limp Bizkit is without a doubt the band I like the least in the entire universe.

Isn't that like their most famous song? It's one of the dumbest cover versions ever. Ha-ha we're so clever, we're homophobes and we're gonna take this pop song by a gay dude and turn it into the shittiest screamo nü-metal piece of shitty shit you've ever heard.

Yeah, 'Faith' was the big hit from the first disc.  Then the next disc came out and the big hit was 'Nookie' and then I think another song that sounds like 'Nookie'.

I love that a 40 year-old wrote the lyrics for 'Shark Attack'.

I've had this tension for the past few years and I never could figure out why. But as soon as I read this post, it left my body. BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR AND NOW I CAN FINALLY EXHALE!

I was actually going to do an experiment and listen to the post-fame periods of bands like Limp Bizkit, Korn, Saliva and Eve 6 and things like that.

I love that there's a song called "Introbra" and a three-part interlude, the finale called 90.2.10.

I'm not going to waste time looking this up, but I distinctly remember Rolling Stone wasting quite a bit of ink on their guitar player because they were amazed at the fact that this dude was into things like Ween and John Zorn but wasted his time hanging out with Fred Durst.  I don't know if this was an attempt to give them some sort of weird credibility, (this was at the peak of their popularity) or if it was because RS likes to "go deep" and find out what makes a creep in weird eye makeup tick.

It looks like they changed the artwork to something lame, but the original was this wacked out Gaugain via Miguel Calderon-looking . The Bizkit always got the best cover art/album titles.

Limp Bizkit - Gold Cobra OFFICIAL VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OI2ME1xb5tY#ws)

Biggest cost-factor in the production of this video:
House paint/ grease paint for Wes Borland's "outfits".

Edit:
God, watched the whole video and it reminded me of these super-cheap german rap videos I watched on MTV in the nineties, when german hip-hop was booming and imitating american gangster rap.
They rent a car and pose all day. This is the most boring kind of showy video you can have.
They must really be running out of money, as all their previous videos at least had some production value and weren't shot in a concrete sewer.

Limp Bizkit had an album called "Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water." That just deserves to me mentioned. It sounds like an album a band from Newbridge would come up with.

I do. You're clearly talking about their cover of "Behind Blue Eyes".

Limp Blizkit are tied with Creed for being the most derivative band of their era...

I can't stomach the thought of watching the video for that again but I believe Fred Durst makes out with Halle in it.

That's not even the creepiest "living out a fantasy under the guise of music video" he has. There's some crap where he has Thora Birch tied up that's sorta rap-y.

By the time they covered George Michael that joke of reworking songs as even shittier "numetal" versions was more than a little tired...

Limp Bizkit had an album called "Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water." That just deserves to me mentioned. It sounds like an album a band from Newbridge would come up with.

I hadn't thought of that, but you're kinda right...

You can almost hear Durst/ Wurster saying "hey, don't judge me" in response to the title...

Halle, no!  WHY???

To be fair, though, I think she did CATWOMAN around that time too.  Her judgement probably was impaired post Oscar.
