Title: Paul F Tompkins or Weird Al...
Post by: HaroldBlvd on August 08, 2011, 03:53:09 AM
What to do? I just purchased a ticket for Weird Al at the Beacon on Oct. 23 when I realized I had already purchased a ticket for PFT at the Bell House on the same night. I'm going to have to get rid of one of these tickets. I've already seen PFT once where he was sharing a mic with Janeane Garofalo at the Comedy Below Canal at the 92Y Tribeca. I was looking forward to seeing his stand up.

I have never seen Weird Al and was looking forward to seeing his show.

I hate when this happens.

Maybe see Weird Al since you've at least seen PFT before.

Is there no way you could make both shows?

If he can, me and Albert Einstein want his secret.

I guess it was probably a dumb question since I don't know the two venues' proximity to one another!

It's fine, it was just me jumping to a punchline. My default setting is not "mean as can be", but the punchline sometimes adjusts the default.

I saw PFT last year and it was the greatest performance of anything I'd ever seen. The last half hour I was actually mad at him for making me laugh too hard. It felt like I had broken ribs. I was too hoarse to actually laugh. I just had to keep my mouth shut and hold my ribs together.

It might have just been a really good night but it seems like PFT is on a career peak hot streak, like he's hitting 60 HR without drugs. If it's been a while since you've seen him you should definitely go see him.
