ew boy, #3 makes me wanna quit the interweb altogether.
-
Yeah, there are some real stinkers on that list. The Nerdist? Ugh. Keep it away.
-
Nerdist can be funny at times, but doesn't consistently deliver and doesn't belong on this list. Smodcast? Ugh. I don't know why I always click on these "lists," but they get me every time. I keep imagining that the writers will finally put The Best Show at the top where it belongs, but they never do.
-
At least four of those shows are unlistenable.
Who cares what other people think? When has anyone's opinion or life been changed by some weird magazine's/website's "best of" list?
Anyways, The Best Show isn't a podcast, it's a radio show.

And it's too local.

"Podcastin' with Gary and Roy" didn't make the list?
What a joke!
-
Someone please explain to me why anyone wants to listen to Michael Ian Black and the guy from Ed talking about junk food.
-
These list makers are too dumb to get it, they're too dopey probably to listen to an entire show and take it all in and realise what an amazing patchwork rollercoaster of broadcasting it is. You get so much out of one show and you always take something funny/interesting/sad/weird away. This show is magic, I doubt there's anything anywhere remotely like it.

At this point no one should be getting worked up about lists. They're what writers dash off when their editors need to fill space. They rarely involve a lot of thought, most of the research is probably just emailing a friend or two.
I did some SEO stuff at my last job and lists are one of those things EVERYONE does to drive traffic to their sites. "Top Ten Reasons..." and "Top Ten ______ You Need to Know About" are beyond cliches at this point, take em for what they are. Look at DIGG - Cracked.com is almost always on there, and its always something like TOP TEN SUPERVILLAINS FROM ASIA or whatever (confession: I enjoy some of the cracked lists, they can dig deep occasionally... Really liked the one about racist cartoons from a year or two ago).
That being said - a list with real thought put into it is thereby that much more valuable.

Filmspotting #2? Wow. As if the list isn't already invalidated, that's just the nail in the coffin. It hasn't been good since Matty joined.

I tried listening to that show and grew frustrated with it very quickly. I never heard it before Matty, but I'd imagine the show would be better without his constant "I'm an ACTOR" interjections.
-
I'm still a big Filmspotting supporter, though I'm only a sporadic listener.
-
Nerdist completely relies on the guest and even then, it's a very shallow conversation. And those host episodes are completely unlistenable. It's like getting three guys in a gas leaking room together talking about how everyone is the nicest guy in the world.
-
Tom and Ben Kharakh gave the 'talk about junk food' thing a shot quite some time ago and moved on...

I enjoy it well enough. It's not the Best Show and it's not even close, but it amuses me for half an hour. It's disposable but fun.
