To Tom, the FoT's, APMike, all associated entities (even possible demons):
I just want to say thanks. The month of September has been pretty much the worst in my life as far as I can tell, with my marriage suddenly vaporizing under my feet and me being left feeling completely adrift and in very dire need of cheering up by whatever means necessary. The Best Show has become a Tuesday night ritual now, something I can't afford to miss, and the last few weeks I've even had a friend come over who'd never heard the show just to keep me company and laugh along with me. In between having to deal with all the associated bullshit that comes with this sort of thing, I haven't had much time or inclination to post on the board, but I have been lurking just to read what you guys have been posting when I needed cheering up.
You're all sort of heroes to me, if only because you're helping to lift the spirits of someone in dire need of it.
There's good things on here, where for the most part people aren't flaming each other, wasting time calling each other names or putting each other down, and are here just to celebrate something great and generally have fun.
So from someone who's feeling pretty low right now (but using all the tools available to realize that I'm in the worst of it, and I will get through it, I just wanted to tell you all thanks.
This is pretty sappy, isn't it? Apologies if this is too serious, but I felt like it needed to be said. Sometimes a community of strangers is doing good work without even realizing it.

Let me know next time you're in the city and I'll buy you a beer. Sorry to hear things haven't been going well but glad things are looking up.
-
Not too sappy. Sorry you're going through a tough time.

That I will do. I'm hoping to make it to the Wild Flag show if possible, hopefully there will be a good showing of Philly FoT's there.

Maintain, Chip Suey. Maintain. We are all rooting for you.

Nailed it, Chip.
Demons on the way!

You have a big heart and a lot of friends on the show and message board. I stumbled on Best Show 4.5 years ago when I was in mourning for months and I desperately needed to laugh. Thanks to the show, it's huge archive and the callers, things slowly got better for my mental state. Hang in there.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but I'm thankful you found a little solace in the show and the board. I hope the sun shines on you again as soon as it can.
Pax.

Hang in there, sir. As someone who's been in a similar straits... you're right. Not only do you get through it, but things get much better. Much.
In the interim, keep enjoying the show. Good guys win, you know.

You guys are awesome. For reals.

Usually posts like this make me bristle despite being one of the cuddliest people you'll ever meet, but this was real nice. Sorry you're going through some hard times. Better days ahead.
Also, what a great idea-hanging out with a buddy going through hard times and just listening to some comedy. Going to keep this strategy in mind for those times when there's really nothing you can say to make someone feel better at the moment.
So, thank YOU.

Believe me, I kind of had to screw up some courage to share all that on here, but I sort of felt like it needed to be said. I'm very rarely one for much emoting, but I've been relying on the laughs from the show and the surrounding community so much that I felt almost obligated to say it.
