I loved this part:

Quote

WILLIAMS: Well, I'm glad you don't, brother, because a lot of people do. You know, they're the enemy. They're the enemy.

KILMEADE: Who's the enemy?

WILLIAMS: Obama! And Biden! Are you kidding? The Three Stooges.

DOOCY: That's only two.

You didn't think the LIE-beral media would just sit back and let ol' Hank get away with speaking the truth, did you?

Who's gonna take over, Hank III?

Who's gonna take over, Hank III?

The Hank IV.

Isn't the bigger question: why the hell would anyone want to hear the political opinion of the guy who does the Monday Night Football theme song?

Well, it's Fox; they knew he was a right-winger and expected him to throw out some red meat.  My question is why the Fox host felt any need to put him at arm's length since, as Media Matters has documented, Obama/Hitler comparisons fall like the gentle rain from heaven all over that cesspool of a network.

Perhaps because Hank was unfriendly with them from the start.

Well, the important thing to remember whenever you hear ol' Hank speak is that he once fell 442 feet onto his head.

The hypocrisy of FNC here is astounding. This is a network that regularly ridicules left-leaning celebrities for openly expressing their political opinions, but it's okay to solicit similar opinions from Hank Williams Jr?!

Who cares what any of these people have to say?

Stewart called them out on that last night:

I've noticed that this is usual chain:

Fox News > Media Matters > Stewart or Colbert

Hah, good riddance:

“After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision. By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment
Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE.  It’s been a great run.” -- Hank Williams Jr

Actually I respect him for that, especially if it caused some suits at ESPN to slap their foreheads.

That's just his side of the story though. ESPN says it was their decision (http://www.espnmediazone3.com/us/2011/10/06/espn-statement-on-hank-williams-jr-10611/ (http://www.espnmediazone3.com/us/2011/10/06/espn-statement-on-hank-williams-jr-10611/)):

Okay, that sounded pretty final, I thought they were hoping to bring the song back next year after the furor died down and/or an apology.

That totally read like a DadBoner tweet. What are they going to do without all of his rowdy friends?

I'm really liking Matt Fraction's twitter feed right now -- he's congratulating the new voices of Monday Night Football (so far: Bon Iver, Tuvaluan throat singers).

It's funny who's for and against the First Amendment at different times.  And funny how it always lines up perfectly with their own interest.

Never mind that in this case the First Amendment doesn't even come close to making an appearance.

It was my understanding that the freedoms outlined in the "Bill of Rights" apply only to the federal government and not to private entities such as ESPN... Companies limit free speech quite frequently, especially with regard to political speech...

And why is this washed up clown capitalizing "toes"?

I'm at work so I can't watch, but if he's blasting Fox, I might have to side with ole Hank. Are you ready for some Foxbashing?

Well, he's not happy with Fox & Friends, but the enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend:

Quote
"So Fox and Friends / Wanna put me down / Ask for my opinions / Then twist it all around." ... "United Socialist States of America / Don't ya just love that name? I'll keep the U.S.A. and ya'll can keep the change."

I'm sorry, but if you're outfoxed by the imbeciles on Fox & Friends, you're just not smart enough to be the barometer by which the nation gauges it's football preparedness.
