Just finished the first (new) season.
I always hated regeneration.

I so hope your joking about the new Doctor. David Tennant is right up there with Tom Baker for one of the best Doctors ever.

UGH, is it next week yet? The next episode looks incredibly awesome. I've been waiting for, uh, the events that are going to unfold next episode, and jesus, what happened to the spoiler button, Jason?

I thought Christopher Ecclestone was pretty good but David Tenant blew him out of the water with series 2. Unfortunately series 3 is a steaming pile of horse manure so far and he'll have to pull something special off to redeem himself. Saying that is a little unfair because it's the writing not the acting that is letting this series down. Obviously they need someone like me to step in and sort it out.
Still, as Bruce once pointed out to me, the worst Doctor Who is still better than the best Torchwood.

The Dalek story is the only real let down this season. That's what upset Jason the most.
Still we got Claudius, Sam Tyler, and Daisy from Spaced to make apperances

I don't know, I never liked Dr. Who until the recent resurgence and I have dug them all on a dumb fun level.

I've enjoyed this season's Doctor Who episodes pretty well across the board, but there hasn't been a knockout great episode (or a complete clunker) in the batch. They've been consistent. Each Saturday night I keep wishing for another "The Impossible Planet."

No more David Tennant. Though his tics were beginning to get on my nerves, it's still sad to see him go. But even though I have no idea who this Matt Smith is, I'm happy to give him and his new companion a chance. And I'm excited about Stephen Moffat's taking over from Russell Davies as head writer. The episodes he's written are among those I've liked best of the new series (Davies's frequently annoyed me).

Davis was pretty schlocky sometimes. You know that feeling when you're watching something so hokey that you start to get embarrassed, like you're just as responsible for how cornball it is just because you let it play out in front of you? There was always a moment in Davis' episodes that were like that. Usually it would revolve around Christmas.
David Tennant was great, and the running plots that lead up to the Daleks stealing earth and the return of the Time Lords were pretty engaging. I'm glad Tennant is on to bigger and better (read: American tv). As a kid, I never liked the new Doctor until it was time to get rid of him. Same here. I'm giving this new lumpy-faced 12 year old a fair shake this time around.

The lump my throat started when Wilf was locked in the chamber and knocked four times. The look on Tennant's face...
And when he was clawing his way back to the TARDIS after seeing Rose, that was difficult.
Then his final line, "I don't want to go". Pretty classy, that. And my eyes were leaking.
Best of luck for this new guy. Certainly looks intriguing.

Thanks Sarah! I'm a Brit so its a big part of our culture here, 15% of our population watched these finale episodes! And looking at the board, this topic looked like the only one I could make a sensible contribution to.

Wilf was great. He completely disarmed my ladyfriend and I. Such expressive eyes. ESPECIALLY when he's not the focus of the whatever is going on. He's just standing back there, staring the hell out of just everything.
