Title: Marky Ramone, the Best Medicine
Post by: Jesus H.W. Christ on December 13, 2011, 02:19:40 AM
I have been unemployed for almost a month. My going-on-long-term(ish) girlfriend just dumped me. In short, I'm a human wreck. I listened to a couple episodes of WTF earlier. They helped, but I saw a little too much of myself - or at least the part of myself that got me into this mess in the first place - in Maron.

At this point, I realized I needed to regain my sense of humor. At the risk of sounding cheesy, I turned to The Best Show. Somehow, I had never listened to the Newbridge Mayubinatorial Debate episode before. As I listen to Marky Ramone, I just want to say, thank you Tom, thank you Jon Wurster, and thank you The Best Show. It didn't save my life, but it's really helping me get through an otherwise miserable day. The only thing that could make this episode better is if Gene Simmons had entered the mayubinatorial race.

And tomorrow is Tuesday. Things are looking up. Nothing short of Mithamine can bring me down me now!

LEAVE NO CHILD UNSLICED!

Absolutely true...

I recently lost my girfriend to ovarian cancer. When she was extremely sick and when we were both going through rough times, I played that call for her because she used to be a fan of The Ramones. It was the last time she had one of those moments where we were both laughing hysterically... to the point of tears.

Scharpling & Wurster are comic geniuses.

I don't know you, Todd, but I'm very sorry for your loss.

Thank you very much. I just finished the section and I read it to my editor. She does not know about The Best Show but was laughing as I read her about the call.. but then, she got teary eyed because she was touched. I thought that was a great complement. The power of laughter is quite strong.

Thank you very much. I just finished the section, but I have to proof and edit it a bit more. I will post it up when it's done
