That's a topic that's generally only going to come up in reference to Rodriguez or John Carpenter, but Troy Duffy also supports the argument.

Carpenter didn't score any version of The Thing or I'd get irate at such a notion.

Seems like all film composers rank somewhere between Carpenter and Morricone
