"Skip Bayless, as he's admitted to his colleagues at ESPN, doesn't care to watch the games. The possession-by-possession nuance and adjustment and dictation of a pro basketball game doesn't matter much to him. What he's best at is creating easily digestible swings between the idea of Right and Wrong, and whatever the Right or Wrong is, it's the Rightiest Right or Wrongiest Wrong that's ever been seen in the annals of team or individual sports."
Can they get rid of this guy already?

Good stuff. You don't have to be a basketball fan to enjoy this.
-
I watched - or rather, read the Closed Captioning of - a very angry Stephen A. Smith taking down Skip Bayless today at lunch. It does not seem to be his week.
-
Like Stephen A. Smith is any better. Maybe he enjoys watching the games, but there isn't anybody I've seen on ESPN who doesn't think that they are as big as the players they are reporting on.
-
ESPN reached their apotheosis during the Patrick/Olbermann "Big Show" era, IMO. It's been downhill ever since.
-
True Olbermann was very good on SportsCenter. I doubt there's anybody I watched it regularly with in college who doesn't hate him now.
Did you go to Liberty... or Texas A&M?

I'm moderate/slightly left of center politically and I can't stand Olbermann. Has nothing to do with his politics, but everything to do with his overall demeanor.

I'm a centrist also. You're right, Olbermann crossed the line between sticking it to the man and bloviating a few years ago. If you boiled down what he's saying to its actual political message, I'd agree more with him than a similarly boiled-down Rush Limbaugh, but if you instead took the politics out of what they're saying it would be hard to tell them apart.
Note to future commentators: seriously saying "How dare you, sir?" has been ruined for all time now.
