One of the most absolutely useful and entertaining friends I've added in my entire tenure on facebook is Ivan, singer from Men Without Hats (who have a new album, btw). He does a wonderful job of dropping very obscure songs dug up on youtube.

Don't dismiss him as a one-hit wonder. Those album cuts were incredible and lyrics full of keen observations of the world from a slightly skewed angle. He's still got that edge!

I've had this running bit through my adult life where I like to see what kind of crazy things I can get people to let me do in exchange for a five dollar bill. My offers are usually denied. I didn't get to hit a house with a wrecking ball nor shoot rubber bullets at the suspect in a police standoff. But if I'm in a bar and there's a cover band playing I've been 100% successful in getting them to play "Safety Dance" for a five dollar bill.

I love Men Without Hats... also didn't he fund the first Nils record??

I appreciate his choice in T-shirts.
