I know next to nothing about prog and this series has been really educational and great. Although that image of Rick Wakeman painted silver and dressed as Thor will haunt my dreams for years to come.

An interesting series of articles -- but the analysis of the Wolf Parade song is just dead wrong. There's nothing polyrhythmic about it -- the song is in 3/4 throughout, Dave just hears the drummed quarter notes equally emphasized in the intro and assumes 4/4. But he's wrong.
(I am about the same age as Tom -- I'm 68 this year -- and followed a similar prog-to-punk path, just got into punk earlier than him.)
