Hey! My beloved La Salle Explorers sort of made the NCAA Tournament. They're going to a play-in game in Dayton on Wednesday. I am not going to be able to make it without risking the end of my marriage. But I know a bunch of people who are going. Anyone want to give me some suggestions and the like?

Dayton Ohio? Oof. I once had to kill a couple of hours there before a comedy show and almost died of boredom. Omega Music in the Oregon District is a pretty good place (especially if your friends like Robert Pollard and/or Guided by Voices - I saw more releases by them in there than I've ever seen in one place), but beyond that, things are pretty rough.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force?

a Big 5 fan here, was pumped when LaSalle made it...kinda scary as they were in the last quadrant announced...congrats Greggulator!

You joke(?) perhaps, but that place is great if you are into airplanes in any way.

Your lady will understand.
I was there for two days on business in the mid-90s. I remember a shiny diner that was pretty good. And a children's wing in a hospital that I went to with a rep - that one I cannot recommend for fun.

There is an awesome junk store there that sells wrenches by the pound. Etc.

As an ex Daytonian that goes back occasionally to play shows I recommend going to the Oregon District. Blind Bob's is always worth a visit. There is a great coffee shop there called Press. The shiny Diner is no longer a restaurant; it has become a night club. ( a rather rough one as of late)
Thai Nine is great though!
If you are going to be by UD, make sure to stop in at Submarine House! They have excellent Philly Cheesesteak! I haven't been to Philly, but I am told it's pretty close to the quality of Philadelphia. There is also a used Cd shop next to there called Second Time Around. You can usually find some pretty good stuff there for cheap!

There are a lot of great places to hike around Dayton. There's some weird store with old elevators, too. It might be the wrench by the pound place.
