Post by: cavorting with nudists on April 21, 2013, 11:15:33 PM
Our national nightmare of indecision is over.  We finally know what Bob Seger songs polled best among Rolling Stone readers.

...and I see my personal pick for "Worst Song to get Beat Up To" came in at #7.

I think getting punched during the tinkly piano solo of "Against the Wind" would be appalling.

I'm disappointed that my favorite Seger song, 2+2=?, didn't crack the top 10.

I like Bob Seger more than probably anyone else who posts here, but that is a straight-up awful list.

When is Rolling Stone going to finally change their name to List Magazine?

Yeah, that list is bullshit alright. Where's "Froggy Went A-Courtin'"? "If I had a Hammer"?

UPDATE: Oops, wrong Seeger, sorry.

No Ramblin' Gamblin' Man? Ramblin Gamblin is some of my favorite 2 minutes and 10 seconds of music. Bob Seger is pretty much the best.

Great clip of Lucifer from the '60s: Bob Seger System - Lucifer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMQmSvKQpUs#)

It's probably #11 on the list. I really like it, but not enough to bump Lucifer or Heavy Music.

"Against The Wind" beats "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" ? No way!

I genuinely like "Hollywood Nights" and used to generally like "Night Moves." It's really hard to appreciate Bob Seger (or any number of other bands) after 10 years of late 80s/early 90s Raleigh-area classic rock radio.

Also, why did they play so much .38 Special? Were they played a lot anywhere else?
