A friend of mine was a Seattle punk scenester back in the early 1990s, saw all the great bands and partied with the cool people, but he's stuck in the past. So I thought I'd make him a mix tape of new punk/garage rock. That's not 100% my thing, but I like what I hear on the Best Show, and this is what I came up with so far:
Oblivians - I'll Be Gone
The Black Lips - Family Tree
Cheap Time - Other Stories
Jay Reatard - Always Wanting More
Spider Bags - Friday Night
Thee Oh Sees - Lupine Dominus
King Khan & The Shrines - Welfare Bread
Ty Segall - Where Your Head Goes
Fucked Up - Queen Of Hearts
If nobody helps me I'll just pad it out with some Fucked Up zodiac tracks.

I'll throw some new-ish songs out there but disregard if and when Omar chimes in. Go with his recommendations.
Mikal Cronin -- "Change" (the McCartney to Ty Segall's Lennon)
Sonic Avenues -- "Television Youth"
Tight Brothers -- "Wedding Rings"
For Best Show-centric--
Classic, all-time great: Reigning Sound's "Bad Man" (live from Goner)
Something from Friend of the TBSOWFMU, Gentlemen Jesse, would fit fine on the list. His album "Leaving Atlanta" is awesome garage rock. I suggest one of these off that:
What Did I Do
I'm Only Lonely
