One of the most promising details listed on the imdb page is the following:
Peter Baynham is writing it!

Not to rain on your parade but I did notice this quote from an article about Neil and Rob Gibbons (http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2012-06-25/meet-the-men-who-made-alan-partridge-funnier-than-ever) who co-wrote "Mid-Morning Matters"; I, Partridge: We Need to Talk About Alan; the two recent Sky specials; and "Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa":
Quote
Iannucci is co-writing the movie, while "I'm Alan Partridge" co-writer Peter Baynham is less intimately involved. (Rob: "The problem with Pete is he's too good and too successful. He's in Hollywood.")
Like T*m, I'm not nearly as hard on "I'm Alan Partridge" season two as that article, but I enjoyed everything Alan Partridge the Gibbonses have touched thus far.

"A Partridge pilgrimage. A Partrimage. A Pilgrimartridge. A Partrimiligrimage"

Armando Iannucci is also releasing unused bits of Alan Partridge dialogue (compiled in a 200-page .doc that he's been adding to over the past 20 years) daily on his Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/Aiannucci) using the hashtag #unseenalan.

I was in the U.K. when season series two was initially broadcast, and I was confused then by the reception it got. I think it's every bit as good as the first series, but was a victim of 1) the Brits' tendency for vicious backlash and 2) the fact that it followed immediately on the heels of The Office (U.K.), which was much more naturalistic and caustic. I'm a bit surprised that its reputation hasn't been rehabilitated by now.

Well that's too bad. I love Peter Baynham and especially his stuff with Chris Morris on the radio.

So I thought he would have another go at something other than animation movies and Sacha Baron Cohen movies...

Ps: I also thought that the second season was totally up to snuff. I'll thoroughly enjoy the movie either way.

I'm looking forward to this a lot more now than after seeing just the teaser trailer. Hopefully it gets a release here in the US.

Best of luck. Just getting over strep throat and very busy with work, the little one, and a pregnant wife. Enjoying the respite provided by the FOT Forum.

Sorry, glad you're getting over it though. Glad you're busy. Congratulations! Congratulations, again! Me, too, good on ya, as we (don't) say in North Carolina. Though I'm not there at present. Stop talking, bc.

FOT message board EXCLUSIVE:

Meet the future King Alan I

PS: This is good to hear-

"The characters, storyline and backdrop are resolutely British, with the film self-consciously making no concessions to ‘open up’ to American or international audiences"

There was a Terry's Chocolate Orange with superficial damage on every chair at the premiere.

Me and a chum will be driving, shoeless and all toberleroned up to Dundee to watch tonight.

Cannae wait.

Actually, we won't be driving, shoeless or in Dundee.

We will walk, down to our local cinema fully shod.  I might have a Toblerone though.

I'll let you know tomorrow what it was like.

The film, not the Toblerone - they're pretty bog-standard.

Finally got to see it last night and enjoyed it thoroughly.  I've heard a couple of moans but the film stands on it's own instead of other tv-to-cinema leaps where you just wind up with three episodes bolted together (I'm looking at you Simpsons Movie).

It has more of a Mid-Morning Matters feel to it but that's where Alan is now isn't he?

A good atmos in the cinema where the audience was 99% men my age (I'm not mid forties! I'm 42 you cheeky sod) and the laughter went round the room a good few times.

A good night out.  I also think it'll be a good film to watch again when it comes out on Doovde.

Good appearances from Dave Clifton and Michael the Geordie too.

Yes, all in all good.

'Alan Partridge' set for US distribution in 2014 through Magnolia Pictures (http://variety.com/2013/film/news/steve-coogan-alan-partridge-north-american-distribution-1200582411/).

It is also showing at the New York Film Festival on Sept. 28 and Oct. 7 at Alice Tully Hall (http://www.filmlinc.com/nyff2013/films/alan-partridge). Tickets go on sale to the general public Sept. 8.

You all are having another baby? Congrats!
Thanks, Steve. We've got a due date of Feb. 11 but expect it to come earlier since the last one was about 4 weeks early.
