The problem with the Frankie Tear Drop challenge is that it is on par with telling someone about a 'scary' or 'interesting' dream you had. >_< DON'T DO THAT!!!
So far the best FTD stories are ones that have an absurd twist or a hint of cultural novelty. But, it doesn't matter, a man or a woman, can tell me a million times over how scared they were listening to a song, but their details as to why it was soo 'scary' make the story a million time more boring. I think this is why Tom has begun to employ the mixing of that terrible singer associated with Grateful Dead and FTD. It's a form of diversion. It's like he is doing a pup-pup on his callers because he knows it's not interesting to hear the stories, but it's hilarious to add an absurdest mix of juxtaposing bed musics while they speak. It's like his way of saying STFU you are missing the point, it's not that scary, but more of a testament to a great band and the sort of surreal notiong that this kind of sound existed long before your sonic youths and RHCP. And maybe also he is like "Eff, I created this thing I was so passionate about...but now people have turned it into a bore, so how can I gain some level of distance and detachment from this idea that was once good, without saying the idea has become passe?" Again, I think the strange mixing of Dog bone or w/e and Suicide is a strong indicator of Tom's detachment from the idea.
LOLOLOLOL it's all in good humor though y'all! It's not Tom's fault this thing died, but people always want to be a part of something or associated with something. "I was so scared, I was sweating. I was thinking 'hey man am I going to make it out of here because my earbuds are producing chilling sounds which change my world perception'?" The punchline to every FTD story is "Hey Tom, I am an adult, but I too still can get scared off of Sin and Cosin .wavs being projected into my ears." Tom recognizes this, but he must own the concept, but also he is slowly detaching himself from it. For me this feels very "Gen X". Finding humanity in the least likely places. Being able to connect with fellow people in a weird way over strange music. I feel like GenXers were all about that. "Hey man we are rockin, but we will also connect over Mazzy Starr and stuff because we also are human and have feelings." In the same vein, the FTD challenge takes a 'rockin' song and then humanizes the experiences of hearing such a crazy sound and then we all get to connect and feel good about being scared because we all humanz!

Yeah, we know.

"What if GG Allin was Elvis" overstayed it's welcome far worse than FTD ever will, and neither hold a candle to how annoying the pervasiveness of "earn your beard" was for those few months.

pup-pup, Sin and Cosin .wavs
Please explain these terms.

The real problem with the FTD Challenge is that the flowers are only good for a couple of days after they're delivered.

The railroad tracks story was pretty good and the girl getting attacked by bees was short and sweet.

Nothing sweeter than girls attacked by bees.
