Title: New Orson Welles Book
Post by: Broccoli Rob Funicello on July 21, 2013, 08:46:07 PM
Hey Tom,
Do you know about the new Orson Welles book?
It called “My Lunches With Orson”, it’s an entire
book of the transcripts between director Henry Jaglom
and Orson during their weekly lunches. This is latter
day Welles too, when he was really heavy so you know
those were some long lunches. Mr. Welles dishes about
his illustrious career and the celebrities he knew while
scarfing down dishes, really sounds like your kind of
summer read.

This review made me cross it off my list:

...but even if I do kind of enjoy the Hollywood Babylon books for what they are, I don't really live for seeing idols only at their worst. If the idea is to understand better what made Welles a great artist, I highly recommend Peter Bogdonavich's book of interviews, This Is Orson Welles, but it doesn't invite you to envision his corpulence as much as this one apparently does.
