I pussed out after clicking on the link and seeing the song was 36 minutes long. The horror... The horror...

And to think, when they were on SNL years ago and a co-worker (and Phish fan) asked how they were, the co-worker scoffed when I responded "weeeeelll... The show's only, like, ninety minute including ads so they only go the chance to do a song and a half..."

I saw Phish four times circa 1991-1994. I used to do a lot of drugs. I'm better now.

I can appreciate some of Phish's "prog" era (i.e. Junta-era, mainly) material, like the more Zappa-esque portions of YEM or Divided Sky, but since 1995 or so, they've been really all about the bland white-boy funk. And the jams can seem like tiny eternities in a bad place. I like free improv as much as the next guy, but I prefer the much crazier stuff like Braxton, Derek Bailey, even the Dead.

AND OH MY GOD TOM MARSHALL WRITES THE WORST LYRICS IMAGINABLE. "Gotta Jibboo?!" Seriously? Fuck off, Tom Marshall.
