Before Spike was the Spike we now know, he would just call in anonymously and say weird stuff about dominatrixes and dungeons. 

Although it doesn't exactly answer your question, here is a thread about this from a few months back I started when I stumbled across one of the early Spike-before-he-was-Spike calls in the archives (the first post gives the date of a good anonymous Spike call-in to the show, and then CrusherKC gives a really good breakdown of the Spike history).
