Title: What happened to call-screener Matt, circa 2004?

Going back through the archives, 2004 specifically, part of the way through the year, call-screener Matt seemed to just disappear without any announcement. I thought this was rather odd as he and Tom seemed to get on really well - i was not a listener at this time during the shows history, sadly. Also, given that the previous call-screener, Dave, was given a  big send-off, it makes it all the more odd that Matt just seemed to fall off the face of the earth. Did i miss a show? Did i fall asleep during the big Matt send-off show? Of course shortly after, Mike arrived and everything was rosey, but i am just interested into why Matt disappeared.

I was listening to the post-marathon show from 2003 (which is incredible. 2 words: Shock Doc) the other day, and was also wondering what happened to AP Matt.

There was an official answer tonight from Tom. "[Matt] left the show."

Don't remember this, but sounds cool. Care to describe, or maybe point me to the episode in which it was discussed?
