Dear Tom,
I'm sorry, I have limited internet, here on the dark side of the planet, and couldn't bear more than 30 seconds of listening, but surely, this is what you are looking for (or at least, something by this band...I don't have time or inclination to click through everything on Youtoobs).

ps: is this some kind of new Rick Astley 'Rickroll'?
have I been trolled???
Your Pal,
Some Guy on the Internet

Faceless Man? surely, not. unless 'Worn' is an overworn monikor for pseudo-Metallica bro-metal bands. maybe. could be.
I really think that I've been trolled.

it's Faceless Man
Brian Turner played this a while back:

there's a link to a myspace page which indicates that they've broken up

Google tells me that it's also a Creed song, which makes sense...

this saddens me. I was really hoping that this would be the big break that the strumming drummer of WORNTHEBAND was dreaming of.
it's almost cliche to ask, but who in their right mind would cover a Creed song? sounds like career suicide to me.
-
actually "Worn" was the song and Faceless Man was the band name, which I'm assuming was named after the Creed song
-
I understand that now. my Googling relied upon the fact that every nobody band in the world tends to tag their mp3s with their bands name, and not the song, because that's all that matters.
When Google then led me to a Youtube video with music eerily similar to the off-kilter stylings of Faceless Man (the band), I naturally assumed that I'd hit on it.
the problem, beyond all of these guys finding the raw gutteral sounds of Creed so appealing is the use of the word "Worn". I'm sure, for them, it evokes images of the rusty gates of ruined churches, but for me, a more practical man, I cannot disassociate it from "dirty laundry" (as in, smelly clothes, not Don Henley).
-
that strumming drummer though.... he puts Mr. Puffyvest to shame, with his lackluster keyboard mashing.
-
When Tom played it on the show I was seriously thinking "maybe it's Jandek?"
-
The true mystery is where Tom acquired this track.
Whatever the explanation, it was pure gold radio talking... whatever. I make and drink a fruit smoothie for breakfast while listening to the Best Show. I always hope the less funny parts are playing while I drink the thing - no luck on that this morning.
-

That is to say "Faceless Man" is also a Creed song, right?
This is the Creed that I prefer:

Faceless Man is sadly no more. The drummer now works at Wal Mart. The guitarist/singer has moved on to another musical project. I have no idea what happened to the third guy that was in their band photo but not listed as a member.

The true mystery is where Tom acquired this track.
It was in the zeitgeist a few years back. Not sure who found it originally but their myspace was spread around by Professor Hesske, Cosloy, & others and made appearances on terminal-boredom (http://terminal-boredom.com/forums/index.php?topic=12067.0 (http://terminal-boredom.com/forums/index.php?topic=12067.0)) and Brian Turner's radio show. Another shining example of the brilliance of the internet.

Nice work. I guess I don't get out to, ah, those parts of the Internet.
Tom's ability to turn something like this, years later, into comedy gold is one of the primary reasons I'm still with the show 11 years later.
