I heard Gary the Squirrel interviewed Carrie Brownstein--not a joke

At the late show it was Gary interviewing Kim Gordon and Jake Fogelnest. Also; a great extended Philly Boy Roy sketch, Tom playing one-on-one hoops with Timmy von Trimble, Jon demonstrating Ringo's "beast mode" solo, Kevin Corrigan playing the Gorch, and a singalong to "Newbridge, We're Comin to Get Ya"

Oh, man, Corrigan playing The Gorch is pitch perfect casting.

Tom says:

SPOILERS BELOW. DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT WANT THINGS SPOILED.

Truly a great show. Themeweavers were HOT!

The basic plot is that a nervous Jon abandons Tom at the beginning of the show, and Tom struggles to provide what would still be legally considered a "show," inviting the audience to talk about "The Slap" and the blue/white/black/gold dress.

Guest spots by PBR and AP Mike precede a contrite, yet ridiculously dressed Jon's return. Jon joins the band for a song, which is interrupted numerous times by Tom (including Tom making Jon a smoothie onstage.) This confrontation ends with them going offstage to work things out.

Gary the Squirrel appears to interview Kim Gordon and Jake Fogelnest, who both carry the props offstage after the interview at Tom's request.

Then the slightly abbreviated Gorch reading by Fessenden and Corrigan. They are both perfect as Tom and Jon, respectively.

Finally, an interview segment which winds up with the "We're Newbridge" sing-along finale.

COMEDY!

Sounds great!

I'm guessing the Chicago/LA shows will not feature Corrigan-Fessenden, which is a shame. Maybe not Kim Gordon, either. Maybe Jake Fogelnest in LA?

I'm sure there are some LA-area famous FOTs who will show up. And that whole movie thing, which I heard Jon W. mention in the Todd Barry podcast.

Wednesday night there was no Corrigan/Fessenden sketch. Also Gary interviewed Vanessa Bayer and Adam Resnik.

Yes, I did go to all 4 shows. I have no life.

The show sounds amazing.

But I think the real question is: Did that one dude ever get to trade his Thursday ticket for a Wednesday one?

Trying to guess who might Gary interview in Chicago. Steve Albini maybe? Jason Narducy?

I was lucky enough to be there for all four shows too, they were so great, I hope they take this show on the road!

They had a professional photographer who took a ton of great photos, it's just like being there!

Im imagining now that Mike made a Bauhaus joke and got a standing O for it.

There were no Bauhaus jokes, but when Mike came onstage the audience pumped their fists in the air and chanted MIKE! MIKE! MIKE! MIKE! MIKE! and it was one of the most validating moments I've ever witnessed.

Then Mike said that what this generation needs is their own Altamont. Classic Mike!

"When you told me about this show I imagined we would be awash in a sea of dicks" Mike proclaimed, "but there's actually some women here!"
