Obama gets blamed for a lot of things, but we should really put his feet in the fire for passing a law that says no rock documentaries can be released without Dave's commentary. It seems really excessive and arbitrary. Doesn't Jack White have anything to say?

I hope there's a "where are they now" section like they did in Heavy Metal Parking Lot DVD
The Euge - Eugene - Decline Of Western Civilization (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wegAwrsvk6s#)

oh wow...
SuperFreak - "Sketch Zone" Starring the "Wet Cherri" Guy from Decline the "Metal Years" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1MKukvsyVE#)

Fortunately the Grohl part of it seems pretty avoidable. Man, I used to think that Thurston Moore was over the top with his just-sitting-in-front-of-my-massive-record-collection-being-interviewed omnipresence.
This looks like an amazing package. I can't believe they finally did it!

rock's only commentator....
-
I'm really excited about this because I've never seen it before.

should be fairly easy to just not watch that dave grohl extra, right? and who know, maybe he'll have something to say that is interesting. why is anyone complaining about this? It's awesome that this is coming out. that is the end of the thought process as far as i'm concerned. Billy Crystal could do the commentary for all I care, I'd still buy it (actually I'd probably watch that).
anyway....not trying to be a jerk or anything. i just think we should focus on the positives. like the fact that all 3 of these are actually coming out! yeah! with bonus features! yeah!
are you guys pre-ordering or waiting to see if best buy/target have loss leader sales on it? maybe target/best buy won't even carry it?

Here's a pretty funny video from Off, which incorporates elements of Decline 1 and 2.
Also kind've thinking about them as I'm going to see them tonight.
OFF! - "Void You Out" (OFFicial live video) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctA5HM_SGLE#)

It's my right as an American to complain about Dave Grohl! It is annoying as hell that he's now the spokeman for anything punk or rock n roll, but yeah, aside from that I am beyond stoked for this set. Especially since part 3 came and went really fast and the bootleg I eventually found was unwatchable quality-wise.
Anyway, any commentary track is better than none...but I guess they couldn't get Alice Bag? Lee Ving? Ron Reyes? Chuck Dukowski? any number of more qualified poeople to do it? I think the foo fighters OTHER guitar player would be more qualified....But I guess if they sell more with Dave's track, more power to 'em

I'm on the commentary track with DG; it's pretty good, although we spend most of the running time discussing "Skeeter".

I would appreciate a little more detail, Omar.

During the commentary track ft. myself and Mr. Dave Grohl we have extensive discussions about the song "Skeeter," which appears on the King Buzzo solo album. Grohl is officially credited as "Dale Nixon." This track is a remix of "Just Another Story About Skeeter Thompson," which is on the Pocketwatch cassette released by Simple Machines. Skeeter was the bass player in Scream.

For fans of Decline 1, or just old school punk in general, the entire 1977-80 run of the LA zine Slash has been posted for free download over at circulationzero.com . The guy only asks for a voluntary donation to charity in return.
