Alas, there is no video footage of a girl punching the factory-wrapped douchebag behind Girls Gone Wild in the eye. There is footage of aftermath, wherein he acts like awhiny crybaby (http://www.tmz.com/2006/07/10/girl-goes-wild-on-joe-francis). Police, paramedics, and a fire truck came to the scene.

Seriously, I can't even leave my house during Springtime in Miami because of these assholes, and it turns out Joe Francis is an even bigger creep than I ever imagined. I'm pro-porn, mind you. I have several friends an acquaintances in both hardcore and softcore porn. I was an extra in a freaking porno movie. But, hey, guess what? Most porno sets don't ply girls with liquor in order to film them doing shit they most likely wouldn't due under normal, sober circumstances.
Ew. Joe Francis gives me hives.

I'm unsure if Claire Hoffman is the woman who slugged Joe Francis in the original gossip bit I linked. I imagine it isn't, because seriously? He twisted her arm against behind her back and shoved her against a car. How could he even think to whine and say, "The mitigating factor is my eye." Of course, if all of the accusations are true (and I'm inclined to believe that most of them are), then I wouldn't be surprised that he's the kind who finds fault with a lady fighting back.
Ugh.
Did I read about Joe Francis in the re-launched Radar (soon to be re-re-launched)? It was about the guy who allegedly forced Joe Francis to sodomize himself on camera, if I recall correctly. I don't think Joe Francis deserves that. No one deserves that, not even alleged rapists and sexploitation purveyors. I'm with Megan, though. He definitely deserves a good punch in the face.

I said this on another forum I'm a part of, a news forum: This guy deserves very bad things. While I may be a pacifist, I would still probably clobber him if he ever touched me, if only because he screamed so much at one woman that her baby died.
A man like this has no honor, no dignity, no loyalty. A man like this is not a man, and must compensate by making the way he's successful the only way to be successful. "I hate to get too deep and philosophical here, but only the guys with the greatest sexual appetites are the ones who are the most driven and most successful." Fuck you, Joe.

I hadn't read the LA Times piece when it originally ran, but I was tipped off to it yesterday morning when I was checking out Boston's Weekly Dig online, which had this barbed little editorial on the guy http://www.weeklydig.com/blog/articles/girls_gone_wild (http://www.weeklydig.com/blog/articles/girls_gone_wild) in its daily dig (blog) section. Catching up on this week's show this afternoon, I was happy to hear that the douche got some more bagging.

Girls Gone Wild company pleads guilty in sex exploitation case

(09-12) 12:27 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) -- The company that produces the "Girls Gone Wild" tapes of young women baring their breasts and acting in other sexual situations pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal charges and agreed to pay fines totaling $2.1 million.
Mantra Films Inc., based in Santa Monica, Calif., made the plea in U.S. District Court in Florida on charges of failing to maintain proof of age and identification for its young performers in sexually explicit films. It also failed to label its DVDs and videotapes properly as required by federal law.
A second company owned by Mantra's founder, MRA Holdings LLC, entered into a deferred agreement on charges of improper labeling. Under that agreement with prosecutors, the charges would be dismissed after three years if MRA Holdings cooperates with future government prosecutions, admits wrongdoing and pays fines.
The two companies and their founder, Joseph Francis, will pay $2.1 million in fines and restitution, the Justice Department said.
Separate state charges in Florida alleging that two 17-year-old girls were videotaped by a "Girls Gone Wild" cameraman in sexual situations remain pending against Mantra and Francis.
"Today's agreements ensure that Girls Gone Wild will comply with an important law designed to prevent the sexual exploitation of minors and puts other producers on notice that they must be in compliance as well," said Assistant Attorney General Alice Fisher.
An attorney for Mantra, Aaron Dyer, said the company would clean up its record keeping.
The charges involved "serious record-keeping issues that occurred several years ago," he said. "Mantra takes these issues very seriously and has done everything it can to make sure this never occurs again."
According to court papers, Mantra Films admitted to violating record keeping and labeling laws while distributing the videos during all of 2002 and part of 2003.
Founded in 1997, Mantra released 83 different titles and sold 4.5 million videos and DVDs in 2002, according to Hoover's Inc., a business data firm in Austin, Texas.
