I don't know if this has been covered in another thread or not but I was just wondering if the W.D.I.A. Fun Packs from the pledge drive were sent out yet.
If not, is there an ETA.
If so, :'(
-
Way too early, I'd say.
-
I got an e-mail from Megan saying sometime next month.
-
There was something on the WFMU page about a month ago saying they were starting to send out marathon prizes, but I don't know how quickly or in what order the packages were going out. I think it said they were starting with t-shirt level pledges first.
-
I got my bumper sticker a few weeks ago!
-
It stinks that the "Fun Pack" won't come in till next month because I won't even be home. Oh well, it will be an awesome welcome home gift when I come back home!
orrrr I could have my parents forward it...I don't know...it'd be safer at home...
decisions, decisions ;)
-
Crap, i havent even sent in my pledge swag form yet! Im a lazy fuck, as I do this every year.
Please save a poster for me! FMU has my creditcard #....I wont flake, I promise!
-
thank you so much for putting together such an awesome premium tom.
-

though i'm not sure i fully grasp the significance of the scarface shirt.
and my patton oswalt cd was blank. but it's all good, because i support the cause!
-
My package arrived in the mail today.
Today!
It's my birthday and what a great coincidence that was!
My CD is working fine, by the way.

Aw, thanks so much. It was a good day but I'm bummed that I missed all but the last 10 minutes of that amazing show.

Seth in Toccoa Falls, GA, takes a break from his paper on the electoral college to join the fun. He says things are going well in his dorm room, but he can't speak for the rest of the state. His Georgia hero is Zell Miller. Seth wants to know if anyone has mentioned the classic Tony Montana (Al Pacino) quote from Scarface (1983): "Get ready to meet my little friend." Tom did not plan to accept anything from this film, but he points out that Seth somehow managed to completely butcher one of the most quoted things of all-time. Seth says he's only seen Scarface once, so he accidentally substituted "get ready" for "say hello." Since the quote as stated by Seth does not actually appear in the film, Tom ACCEPTS it.

I haven't received mine yet. The other premium I'm getting is the Cherry Blossom Clinic's and I live in Brooklyn. I am a little worried that it's my building. At what point do I check in with WFMU and/or get worried?
-
I didn't get mine till August last year, so I wouldn't panic yet if I were you.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing it's the people who pledged at the $75/1 premium level who are getting theirs now. The more stuff you get, the longer it takes for your package to arrive. I wouldn't worry just yet.
-
do they do it alphabetical or something?
my girlfriend got her's, I didnt'. we live in the same house.
but her name starts with B mine with M
so...it makes sense.

I think they mail it to girls first, then boys.

Former supercallers get them pretty early

I ordered the same 2 premiums and also live in Brooklyn, and nothin'. So it seems like everything's as it should be. Eric, let's make a pact: when one of us gets the premium, we'll post, so the other one knows whether or not something might be wrong.
-
But you still won't know for sure--location might not have anything to do with it.
-
True. But making pacts is fun.
-
Yeah?
-
Well. Define "fun."
-
I would say "fun" is the fact that you are attempting to make a Pack Pact. And by "fun" I mean "fun to say," and also "I am desperately uncool."
I will also admit to staring at this thread for approx. five minutes trying to remember if those two words are homophones, homologous or if they are another word I can't remember. The conclusion I have reached: it is time for me to go to bed.
-
I don't know about you guys, but whenever I make a pact, blood is involved.

I agree to the pact.

They are homonuclear? I got mine today. Love it but am already dreading having to explain the shirt.

me too. i forsee one of two uncomfortable reactions:
#1 that's not how you spell scarface - and the quote is wrong.
or
#2 woo-hoo! scarface is awesome! *
it really is an ingenious shirt.
* raises hand in "high five" type gesture.

According to our pact, Jason Grote, I must inform you that yesterday I received my We Did It Again Fun Pack and the Cherry Blossom Clinic Premium (actually two of the cd came). If for some reason you don't receive your CBC cd, Jason, you can have my extra.
The poster looks fantastic and the Patton cd is nice (not to mention the CBC cd which is fantastic), though I wonder if I will ever wear the Scarface shirt...
-
I got my fun pack yesterday and wore my new shirt last night. Awesome.
-
Ugh, I'm chomping at the bit.
-
the shirt is great. the guy at taco bell asked me if I liked Scarface.
-
*Hoping the folks who just got theirs were mice*
-
Can someone share their fun pack pictures?
-
Moonshake! I thought you were Stan there for a moment.
-
Did everyone get their fun packs already?
-
nope
-
I was told they are in the middle of sending those out and that I should get mine within a week!
-
I ordered a scanner from amazon a while back, and I was chomping, chomping, chomping at the bit to get it. Couldn't wait. Ordered on Day 1, it was promised on Day 3, and on day 7 still no delivery. So I says, geez, people, step it up already, I ain't gettin any younger. Matter fact, I'm getting gray hairs just sitting here thinking about that thing. Chrissakes, how long does it take? So I called up UPS, and they didn't give me an answer, said to call Amazon. Amazon said they didn't know, all they could tell was it was in UPS's hands. Great, typical runaround. So then they offered to ship me a new one, and they'd take up the missing scanner with UPS. I says, that's what I call taking charge. Finally somebody steps up to the plate. So I got the scanner finally. Had it now for about a month. Only used it once since then. So I guess the moral of the story is, it'll get here, keep your pants on. And you probably don't need it that bad anyway. But I still want that damn poster.

Man, Eric Luxury, I left for Connecticut today and I'll be here all month. I was really hoping to wear that Scar-Face t-shirt around here, too. Maybe I can get my wife to bring it up.
This reminds me - my pledge credit card just expired and I got a new one with a new number. I should tell WFMU.
-
I got a bumper sticker and that's it. Do they send everything else separately?

what level gets just a bumper sticker? $2?
-

That seems a little strange but if you ordered more than one premium it might be the case. To answer your question, I got the sticker along with everything else (shoved into a stapled up brown paper lunch sack with a couple stamps on it). Everything is awesome. I love it. Way more awesome than a lousy $75 donation should earn. Thanks Tom!
-
I think you get a bumper sticker just by pledging your allegiance to FMU.
-
I've gotten the bumper sticker but nothing else yet. I think it was because I pledged a Mouse during week one, and then a separate $10 week two. I bullocksed it up, and didn't get to become a Steve McQueen With A Skull Face because I jumped the gun.
-
I got mine a few weeks ago, and it is great. The CD is a little shorter than I thought it would be, though, but I'm not complaining. It's a laugh a minute! I gave the tshirt to my little brother so that he can be cooler than anyone else in gym class this year.
Thank you Tom!!!
-
It's a laugh a minute!
This doesn't seem like a very high laugh rate. The CD is what, 10 minutes? And you laughed only 10 times? I would expect a good comedian to provide at least 2 or 3 laughs a minute, and maybe as many as 20!

Wow! The fun pack is the most wonderful thing ever! It's better than christmas! I'm wearing my XXXXXX-Large T-shirt right now, and it's so great because it's big enough not to choke me. I DIDN'T HAVE TO MAKE THE NECK HOLE BIGGER! This is the most awesome thing ever! Wonderful! Super! I'm so so so happy!
