Post a video for a good recent song that you think many of the FOTs have not seen and/or heard
I will start

Define "recent"

(Alright, alright ... if I post in this thread again, I'll try and include something from this millenium).
P.S. That hopping dude in the Goldfrapp video ... wow, he must have shins of steel. I can't imagine hopping on concrete for three minutes straight. It appears that video was shot in one continuous take. Very impressive.

I'm sure most of the FOTs are more in tune with the kids these days than I am. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this video...

I love Amiina so so so much, and I recently found this video of them playing their song "Seoul" live. Very low key, but really struck me for some reason. Just shows how beautiful music doesn't have to be complicated.

That was quite amazing, I thought.
I'm easily won over by the horrific and strange animation.

Probably the scariest use of ABBA footage out there - Ratatat. Shempi. It's not their best song, but the footage makes it FOT appropriate.

Here's one I really like - It's a great cover of a great wilco song:

Not nearly as creepy as the Chad VanGaalen.
Those frickin' Swedes are hot despite the strange-ification.

THANKS FOR ENJOYING THE AMAZING VIDEO FOR OUR SONG "OBAMA"! - Love, Pistol Opera

"OBAMA" by Pistol Opera
Listen up, people, it's a brand new day
It's time to sweep the dim, dark past away
Hear what I say!
Coming soon to the U.S.A.
The Technicolor sequel to J.F.K.
Barack Hussein Obama
No relation to Saddam or that jerk Osama
He's a man on a mission
A visionary poet slash politician
Separate the chaff from Obama the wheat
In a whitebread world, he got the meat
Makes the present state of politics obsolete
From Chicago, where fog comes on little cat feet
So haters stop running your trap talking smack
Get on the O train; stop acting wack
Like Abraham Lincoln crossed with The Mack
Once you go Barack, you never go back Check it!
Botswana to Ghana / Nobu to Benihana
Run go tell your mama about / Obama, Obama
Iraq like Vietnam-a / Barack gonna end the drama
I think youre gonna wanna vote / Obama, Obama
Got charisma and style; smart as a whip
The child of a mixed-race relationship
Born in the 60s when everything was groovy
Heidi Klum and Seal can play his parents in the movie
Came from next-to-nothing; he's a self-made man, so DAMN
Stand up! Give the brother a hand!
He got a grand slam plan to save this land
And if he can't do it, nobody can!

The thing Chad Young manages to avoid telling you until you come into the office to hash out a screenplay, is that for an extra $350 you can get it done in hypno-vision, for a surefire yes. It's immoral and I want nothing to do with any zombie wives.

Q-Tip!
http://videos.onsmash.com/v/147QQYveUrtW3bYU
fuck Q-Tip.
I used to work at a joint with this guy Dave from Queens who was the biggest TCQ fan. We would get alot of celebs coming through, and usually paid them no mind, but the time Q-Tip came by Dave was really excited. He waited on him, and started to make idle chat about their respective neighborhoods and Q-Tip totally Dolenzed him. Dave was totally crushed (which pissed me off b/c he was a great guy).
-
Yeah, I'm becoming more and more disenchanted by Q-Tip for various reasons. "Georgie Porgie" didn't help anything.

Hey. Just posting here what I think is a great Canadian song. I want to move past 'the-band-that-begins-with-an-R' whole-heartedly. I want to live in the now, so to speak. The East Coast of Canada has some great indie bands. This is one. Wintersleep is amazing as well.
The only reason I'm linking this is because it reminded me of a youtube account called "La Blogotheque" who has quality bands walk around in France and he records them, it's so good. (You should check that out, too - I spent a day or two going through a bunch of those videos.)
This I guess is a Canadian equivalent but it's grrreat!

Those guys have got to be 70 by now. What's up with them looking like Rascal Flatts?

This is the youngster
Joe Bonsall (born May 18, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a member of the Oak Ridge Boys,[1] and in 2003 published GI Joe and Lillie,[2] a book about his parents' lives during and after World War II. Besides charting several hits as a member of the Oak Ridge Boys, Bonsall has a solo chart credit alongside the band Sawyer Brown in their 1986 single "Out Goin' Cattin'", on which he was credited as "Cat Joe Bonsall".
Please note his place of birth.
And the entire conflagration was apparently Scooter Jennings' idea, if you can call it that.
-
By it being Shooter's idea does it mean he was stoned and said something on his Sirius show like "I think the Oak Ridge Boys should cover a White Stripes song" or did he just suggest a new wardrobe.

Eventhough this song has been used in tons of stuff,
From Wikipedia:
The single "Oh Yeah" became famous after being featured in the American movies Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Secret of My Succe$s, Teen Wolf, She's Out of Control, K-9, the short film 5 Men and a Limo, and more recently Soul Plane. The song is also used on The Simpsons as the theme for the Duffman character. "Oh Yeah" is used as the soundtrack in the game Gran Turismo 4, where it is played after a failed license test, and in the television advertisements for Irn-Bru featuring "Raoul". A short excerpt of "Oh Yeah" is also used in the South Park episode "Hell on Earth 2006", namely in the making of the Ferrari cake scene. It also featured prominently in commercials for Twix candy bars and the Austin Metro, and was used extensively in commercials for the now defunct New Zealand department store, DEKA. "Oh Yeah" also appeared in a Season 4 episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The characters Charlie and Mac were singing the song and referred to it as 'Day Bow Bow'.
I have to disagree with Andy from Engu-land from Barf, I think this great song should be used in at least 2 or 3 more films.

I think that's right, it's more like what it sounds like when they imitate us, is the way it was explained to me. Also, a DJ played it last night at a la-de-da Italian l'apperitivo thing I went to. It's just impossible not to start bopping like the "kids" in the classroom there.

I don't know how I missed these until now (and actually I didn't click on the above videos until you said this).
I was watching the 'B.B. King shreds' video last night, and I was laughing so hard I was in physical pain by the end of it.

For guys who came of age during the era of "guitar gods" this skewering is fantastic. I, too, was actually hurting the first time I watched the Eddie Van Halen one. The hidden gems are in the drum fills.

No one posted the Peter Serafinowicz Hot Chip thing? I liked it when I first saw it. We've done some work for them, so when my (consistently late to the game) boss found it, she made everyone watch it. Usually that destroys something for me, but this one is funny/weird enough that it still held my attention.

Me, too, Dave. The vitriol some people express toward this song mystifies me.
You guys are too much the Southern gentlemen to feel this way, but some of us surlier types believe deeply that the words "wonderful" and "Christmastime," while useable in a legitimate sentence ("Many people like to watch It's a Wonderful Life at Christmastime"), should never, ever be used in the same song lyric and certainly not in succession.

Two days later, Paul Bruno of The Unblinking Ear podcast http://theunblinkingear.blogspot.com/ (http://theunblinkingear.blogspot.com/) tweeted me that they were performing in Knoxville that night, and that I should welcome them with a box of wine. That night, me and Andy got to see them play, and they were fantastic. Andy got to talking to them after the show, and as they did not have to be in Birmingham until 8:00 the next night, they agreed to participate in a video series that Andy has been assisting with. So here's a short video of Literature performing the song Rooney while making their away around the world's largest discount wig store at lunchtime on Tuesday.

Here's Andy from Knoxville's latest, he did both the remix and the video. Once again the band is Lil Iffy, a rap group sort of obsessed with bling and the world of Harry Potter. I know, I know. Son of Powercaller (dare I say SuperCaller) Andy from Knoxville has directed his first video. He's loosely associated with this hip hop collective called Lil Iffy, who so far has cleaved to their rather narrow path; hip hop Harry Potter fanfic with an "adult" slant. Andy's been on previous shoots (grip guy, sound guy, etc) but this is his first solo directing gig. Please let me know what you think, good or bad, and I will share with him.
