Title: No-cussing kid: 1, Tom: 0

I made the mistake of watching Leno tonight. Some eighth-grade kid who started a no-cussing club at his school was on. Now his club has over 20,000 members and the kid has a book coming out.

If you visit the website it doesn't take very long to run into something that's absolutely hilarious. This is my favorite so far:

"In spite of the thousands of e-mails from kids and adults around the world full of riddicule, abusive profanity, and even death threats, McKay Hatch (now 15 years old) continues to lead a worldwide movement that all started from a simple desire to have his friends stop using profanity."

His "No Cussing Club" t-shirts have thrift-store irony written all over them.

I'm having a difficult time believing that he doesn't know how badly he's asking for it.

Now that I think about it, he's probably just being forced into it by his parents at this point. "Hey son, just do all your great Michael Jackson moves on these rocks over here. People will love it!"

That fruit isn't even low hanging. It's the fruit that's already fallen on the ground, the stuff they use to make cider.

Did that web site just break out of prison? If not, that's way too much orange.

I should add that I write/run a web site that makes frequent use of orange in the design, and yet I still think that's WAY too much orange to subject the human eye to.

This kid and his parents will inevitably choke on their own hubris.
I don't want to sound judgmental, but this kind of shameless ego backed up by nothing is what gets people mauled by tigers.

The Site: Take the NO CUSSING challenge!
Me: Fuck you. Did I win?

It is too bad toilettalk.com is being wasted.
...however turlettalk.com is still available...

I think you're being too kind.  Judging from his affected pronunciation and mannered gestures, this little exhibitionist is a very willing participant.

I like that it seems to be a point of pride that he's "the most cyberbullied kid in the world." You don't say!

I'd probably join the No Cussing Club too if every single day I heard, "Hey, Asshole!  Cut those things off!"

Yes, and it's things like this that make us more afraid.

I bet the no cussing club would appreciate Tom's reaction to George Carlin's death. Every one of the club's chapters probably locked down and partied that day.

I agree with the second part of "children should be seen and not heard."  I haven't come to a full conclusion about the first part.

That guy should curse his barber.

That guy should curse his barber.

I doubt if it's the barber's fault.
