Title: Objectum Sexuality Documentary -- "I Married the Eiffel Tower"

Object sexuality or Objectophilia is a pronounced sexual desire towards particular inanimate objects.  All of the Objectùm Sexuals (http://www.objectum-sexuality.org/) in the world (around 40) are female *EDIT: it appears there are at least a few males.

Does not disappoint.

this is fucking nuts!

i love it

after my initial assessment, I began thinking about how this kind of thing develops. do you think its like they said about it being symptomatic of aspergers? or is it something else entirely?

also, I respect people who are or claim to be polyamorous and all that idea that love and monogamy don't go hand in hand, i'm not a subcriber to it personally, but i get it.

but the thing i found the wierdest was how they all seemed to be deeply and intensely "in love" with like a dozen things.

The next thing you know, these wack jobs will be asking for marriage rights to be extended to people who want to marry monuments. I mean, where does it all end?

We should have listened to Rick Santorum.

Sometimes when the Francis Scott Key Bridge is making love to me, I close my eyes and pretend it's the Air and Space Museum.

I hope the FSK Bridge isn't a member here ... that would be a devastating revelation.

I'm kind of sexually attracted to concepts. Monarchy and the Riemann hypothesis both have restraining orders against me. I guess that's another documentary.

"I know it sounds strange, but I find myself sexually and emotionally stimulated by buildings. I actually harbor a deep and abiding love for them."
"That... hrm. That's kind of unusual, but as long as it doesn't hurt anybody, I guess."
"Really? That's generous of you to say. You don't think I'm weird for being aroused by the Eiffel Tower?"
"Enh, it takes all kinds."
"Or the Empire State Building?"
"It's not my place to judge."
"Or Frank Gehry's Guggenheim?"
"UGH, GET AWAY FROM ME"

It's interesting that their love objects are all constructed or engineered things, rather than, say, a rock, or a pillow.

Also, of all the things that made me feel uncomfortable, strangely the worst was probably the two women arguing over who had it worse, the oppressed citizens of communist East Germany or the woman whose parents didn't love her. I understood the point she was trying to make, but that was kind of the wrong venue in which to be making it...

Pillow engineers everywhere are calling for your head, my friend. Take it back.

I wasn't going to address this topic for fear of being labeled an object-o-phob or something else demeaning.

But maybe these folks are just heavily into right brain thinking and are connecting to a consciousness most people (including me) are unaware of.

Just thinking,  And I am not watching anymore videos posted by A.M. Thomas most are too long and intriguing and I must get things done.

Signed,

Frederick's Left Brain.

p.s. Get to work!

Have to admit: As one who works with developmentally-delayed young people, some of whom are diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, I found the video pretty interesting. In a weird way I could see how their minds were working (if indeed these people have Asperger's, which apparently about 1/3 do - http://www.objectum-sexuality.org/), since they are prone to relate more to machines than man anyway. Interesting, indeed.
Oh- and fonpr-
As a college student on winter break, I gladly watched this in-between playing Lego Star Wars and reading "A Clockwork Orange". Sorry, I had to rub it in.

I must've got some bad information somewhere. I thought Patton was supposed to play a guy fanatically in love with the New York Giants, not a woman named Amy in love with a giant carnival ride. In any case, Oscar-worthy performance, Mr. Oswalt!
