Wow! An almost complete lack of enthusiasm for this project.
Post here if you're coming.
I'm in.
-
I wish I could say for certain but I just started a new season so work is insane now. I'll know better next week what my deal is.
-
In. Might or might not have a car coming from New Brunswick but leaving towards Brooklyn.
-
I am in.
Taking public transportation.
Not watching Jason's Comcast.
-
I'll be there if I can. If not, I'll send a long, rambling videotaped message I expect you to play in full.
-
I'm going!

I'm not coming, but I'll be providing a long, rambling audio/visual commentary to Chris's long, rambling videotaped message. I expect you to play both in full.
-
I just started a new season . . .
Tantalizing.
-
I'm in, I'm coming from Albany so getting there by 7ish after work should not be a problem. Who am I kidding, I'm taking that afternoon and next morning off.
-
in!
-
Yes, hi, me!
-
I'm probably most definitely going. I think.
-
Present! Here! Coming! IN!

I'll stop by- somebody has to make you put your laptop away.

I just started a new season . . .
Tantalizing.
I"m in an all-boroughs female Belt Whipping league ... dere.
The training regimen is brutal.
-
I'm a committed maybe.
-
I'd love to drink a beer with Mike but that's so on the opposite side of the country...
-
I'm a committed maybe.
Same here. Might have to blow off a class on Tuesday so I need to gauge the feel of the professor beforehand.
-
I will be there. Really looking forward to it! :)
-
Yes please.

Darn. That's what I thought. I was hoping for something more exotic.
-
I will not be there, but the creator of the @ClarenceThomas twitter will be in attendance...

I wish it were. I work in publishing-where the next season we're working on is Jan-April 2010 books. I"m kinda ready to do something else but them books is mostly all I know.

Wouldn't it be funny if I turned out to the professor?
Unbearably awkward. But funny!
-
I am going to try to come. I could fly into Newark, how close is that to Jersey City?
I have never been to NYC/Jeresey.
If I come everyone has to be nice to me!

to WHAT the professor? "Batter-buttle"? "Chain-whip?"
-
Pretty close, Jeremy, they share a border. But you would either need someone to pick you up at NWK, or investigate bus options. You could probably take a shuttle to Newark Penn Station and grab the PATH to Jersey City, which would be cheap and take maybe an hour, but might be a pain in the ass.

I'm far too busy to be typing in verbs all the time.

Its very close. Less than 30 minutes by car, about the same by train. Two stops to Newark Penn then 4 stops to Exchange Place or wherever you might be staying.
-
I'll be there!
-
I'm seriously considering driving up for this. It will hinge on whether the cost of transportation and lodging will fit into my budget. If I can make it work, I'll be there.

Yes, yes, I totally forgot that the NJT train stops at NWK and has for years. And I've taken it to the airport multiple times and have been passing it on the way to work three times a week for the past six years. Obviously my brain is trying to tell me that I am not ready to go back to work.

Somehow I'm missing on the professor joke.
-
It's a callback to earlier in the thread, but otherwise not funny enough to make the joke worth the effort of explaining.
-
I'm planning on coming.
-
I'm planning on being in attendance.
-
count me in. sounds like a real hootnany.
-
Can't say for sure, but I'm going to whatever I can to make it a yes.
-
I'm in! Looking forward to meeting some FOT!! I think this will be my first time in Jersey City - can't wait!
-
I might show up. Then again, I might not.

If Lawrence D. Pervison doesn't make an appearance, I will consider the entire trip a waste.

My whole family's from Brooklyn, and that's not an accent I'm familiar with. I think Larry's from the Dead End Kids section of Brooklyn.

Nope, I'm the dummy for not recognizing it. I should be laid flat by a catapulted cow.

I can't make it (*sad trombone*) but I just found out that a great caller (who I shan't name) will be there. I am sure it will be a treat.
Have fun!

I'm hoping Joey Levels shows up to make sure everything's on the up-and-up with the karaoke system.

I want to make a friend or two come, but if not, can I come and sit awkwardly???

Trade books? If you don't mind me asking: who do you work for? I'd be so excited if there was a FOT in my building...

Is it a triangular building?

No, it is a classic square. And next to the Hot 97 building might I add.

Find me on Tues! I think I know who you work for & we might know a few of the same people.

i immediately thought of you when Auntie Christina mentioned she worked in the book industry. no, i didnt forget...we were eating pizza!
-
Is wearing a WFMU shirt to the meetup the equivalent of wearing the shirt of the band you are going to see in concert?

Ha good remembories!* What I remember is that pizza being delicous! And putting my NY/NJ pizza snobbery to shame.
I'm a Family Circus character.

You just answered your question with a question, Mr. Frank.

did it really? well, thats flattering to know. i'll make it to NY/NJ one day, you'll have to let your pizza snob flag fly. also, too bad you and Farmer Thomas wont make it to Gonerfest this year.
-
I intend to attend. If public transportation is kind enough to me.
-
I will be there! ;D I'm so excited! Last time was a blast!
-
I'm really on the fence about this. Public transport from where I am is kind of a pain, and there's no way I'm convincing the wife to go out on a tuesday. It IS only twenty minutes away though.
Do most people go by themselves to this thing and hope some kind of juggalo family vibe takes over?
-

Yeah, people go by themselves. The last two times friendships were forged and romances were sparked.
I ended up building some scenery for a guy I met at the first one, that was two years ago and a month ago he threw a party for his son's baptism in my garden.
Edit- where do you live? Maybe you could get a ride with somebody.

I'm going by myself. I've never met anyone from here in real life, so I'm a little nervous too. Hopefully everyone will be as nice in real life as they are on here.
-
im still holding out for the last second when cash magically appears in my bank account and i show up, surprising everyone.
-
I'll be there.
-
take a lot of pix/video please :(
-
Okay. My only class on Tuesday, we're watching "Good Will Hunting."
Quick straw poll: Should I skip this class or should I totally skip this class?
-
About going by yourself: I would recommend it.
I went to two comedy events that a bunch of people from ComedyZone went to and there were efforts to meet up. The time I was alone it was great, but it is a little weird to be introducing people who know to people you electronically kind of know. It makes an awkward at first situation an awkward the whole time situation.
-
there is family vibe that comes with this board if youre on long enough. even if youre not on the board that long, there are an adequate amount of FOT who will make you feel WELCOME, beyond what you could imagine from a "stranger".
i love this board and i love the FOT. trust me, you'll feel alone for about two seconds before youre shaking hands and taking names.
-
I will be attending with Zookeeper Joe (who actually made his call about the mountain lion while at the last meet up). Only a few more days...
-
Can someone bring a friend, who's not a FOT, equip him/her with a headset, and have him/her hook up a webcam to his/her glasses, then connect it to either a phone or a laptop with wifi and stream the video and audio feed to me while I'm on Skype instructing the dummy (as it were) what to say, do and drink? thx

Thanks! *blush*
Started listening I believe last November- it was the show where Tom talked about the art student who made a gold fence and put it up around a city park in Baltimore. I work for the art school where that piece was created, so my brother sent me a link to the show, and the rest is history.
Ended up taking the FOTalo express down with other wonderful FOTs (I am terrible and can't remember everyone's names..) You guys are the best. As a tiny young lady it was definitely "one of these is not like the others" in the car :)
We had perfect timing and saw Tom walk around the corner and Mike come out of the pizza show just as we were parking. It was like, bing, bang, Best Show time!
