I am either a "disaffected" or a "post-modern", which is kinda the same thing, right?
But that can't be, because I have been John Stossel the whole time.

Solid Liberal. (Even though the quiz was made for Americans. I'd probably be way more left of Democrat on the US political scale if that was possible.)
-
Solid Liberal, and I suspect that a large majority of Canadians would be on the left side of the spectrum as it's presented by this poll.
-
It must be hard to be an anarchist/realist. Anarchy is such an idealistic notion.
If we're labeling ourselves, however, I'll be a radical puritan, as my mother termed me many years ago.

I don't think real anarchists are idealistic or realist really. I think true anarchists basically live in a state of constant existential crisis until they just give up and become a cynic.
-
I took Fredericks to mean Anarchist in soul and imagination but Realist when looking out at the world. But I might have been projecting.

By gum, then we disagree.

Card-carrying Socialist. Sometimes anarcho-syndicalist. But Solid Liberal according to this thing.

Wait, we have to weigh in? Dang, 240, but I'm working on it.

Post modern. I usually score in the least Democratic of the Democratic categories, so that's about right.
To be a Republican in North Carolina (or Tennessee or Alabammy, for that matter) is a whole other thing than to be one in New York or Pennsylvania or Maryland or California. The NC Legislature was taken over by the GOP for the first time since 1898 this year (thanks, disaffected people who stayed home and people who, despite their grinding rural poverty, just wanted to "get them gays").
Most of what they've done has been pretty straight out of what the Wisconsin jerks did, but we've also had a move to return to the gold standard and sundry other little gems.
Funny - all these religious types who fought so hard against the lottery when it got put in a few years ago have done absolutely nothing about trying now to get rid of it and its "no tax" revenues.

Post Modern

interesting there's been no one between the 2 categories
-
I got "New Coalition Democrat."
Actually, I'm a Distributist-leaning Monarchist. I don't show up on many charts, but it keeps me out of most political arguments.
-
The dual-choice answers on that test seem to me way too polarized to get at any very subtle distinctions, so I'm not very surprised that people with enough affinity to have clustered around something even so basically apolitical as The Best Show tend to fall into only one or two groups. If something as urbane as The Best Show were likely to appeal to folks who think Jesus rode a dinosaur, there might be a wider distribution.

I did, last year, need to get a new ID soooooo now moi 'tis officially registered, much to the delight of the registrar, as this county’s first member of

Merits of this particular test itself aside for a moment, I think our small sampling here reflects the actual makeup of the show's fanbase - at least as far as the chat, the messageboard, and the in-person gatherings show.
It's sad that "urbane" has to mean liberal (or at least, not conservative) at this point in our country's history. Regardless of what you think about their politics, most of the mid-century conservative lights were thinkers. You could certainly hate all of William F. Buckley's ideas, but he came across, in truth, as *too* urbane.
Nowadays, the most sophisticated conservatives are either distrusted as effete wannabe liberals (Ross Douthat, George F. Will) by most conservative voters, or simply turn their brains off and pander (I'll give Dinesh D'Souza and Jonah Goldberg the benefit of the doubt here).
The monolithic nature of the Best Show's audience is further proof to me of the "everything is political" nature of a country that really isn't that ideological in its daily lives. We look for shortcuts to turn us on or off to particular media options.
It's clear from listening to Tom talk and tweet that he holds liberal social and economic views, but that shouldn't necessarily preclude a conservative from enjoying the show (and its musical and comedic aspects, in particular). Somehow, it seems to preclude their enjoyment, though.
Maybe they're just listening and not participating in the group aspects. But I don't really believe that.
-
Solid Liberal, according to this thing.
On Facebook, though, I list my political affiliation as Iceland's 'The Best Party'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Best_Party (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Best_Party)
