It was a mercy killing, but we never even got to say goodbye.  :'(

I think this forum may get a little busier.

Somehow, I missed this thread yesterday and was all set to start one on the subject.  I'm glad you were more on the ball than I, Stan.

It makes me sad that the FMU board is gone.  I wiped away a little tear.  It was the first board to which I ever posted, before I even started listening to the Best Show.  I hope that the more magical threads are not lost forever.

I hate most change.  Yeah, yeah, I know it's inevitable, but I still hate it.

Now I'm to set [sic] on my porch with my shotgun and fire warning shots at the tourists.

For those who missed it, here's Ken's recent blog entry on this subject:

Be sure to read the comments.

From the comments on the WFMU blog entry concerning the passing of the board:

Quote
I think the board hit either its high point or low point (I can't figure out which) with the guy who was asking about how to try some crack. I wonder what ever happened to him?

Someone here should be proud.  Hell, I'm proud--I contributed a fair amount to that thread.  It was a good'un.  And I, too, wonder what happened to that guy (hint).

(Another thread resurrected!)

I had to do it, though:  I was just reading the comments on Ken's playlist, came across a name very familiar from the long-departed FMU board, and felt a pang of grief over the demise of that once-proud forum.

WFMU message board, you are still missed!  I will forever be grateful to you.

Love,

Sarah

That's too bad. I never posted there but the college station I used to be music director at just did the same thing because of security issues.
